Arkansas Democrat Senate candidate Hallie Shoffner stood in front of a crowd of union organizers in Little Rock celebrating a Communist holiday and made a promise: she’ll help strip away the same right-to-work protections that have kept woke union power out of Arkansas classrooms.
Video taken on May 2nd, 2026 shows Shoffner at a Little Rock rally for May Day, also known as International Workers’ Day, a holiday historically observed by Communist and socialist movements around the world, normally marked on May 1st. The event was organized with help from the Arkansas Education Association. At the event, Shoffner told the crowd:
“I’m going to sign on to the PRO Act and I’m going to whip votes for it. I’m going to protect our teachers and our education support professionals’ right to organize on their own behalf.”
The Arkansas Education Association documented the event on its Facebook page:
“On May 2, workers gathered in Little Rock to celebrate International Workers’ Day, support each other, and renew their commitment to change in the state of Arkansas. The event featured Chyloh Bartók, Bill Kopsky, Hallie Shoffner.”
Shoffner isn’t just talking about union solidarity in the abstract. The PRO Act she’s promising to whip votes for is legislation the Senate GOP’s Republican Study Committee has warned would make it dramatically easier for unions to strike, and it would very likely end Arkansas’s status as a right-to-work state altogether.
That status is the reason Arkansas teacher unions don’t have anywhere near the stranglehold their counterparts have in states like Illinois or New York. Arkansas Congressman French Hill spelled out exactly what’s at stake back in 2021, writing in an official press release:
“The so-called PRO Act would overturn the laws of Arkansas and twenty-six other right-to-work states.”
Shoffner wants to be the senator who helps make that happen.
Shoffner’s education allies aren’t just pro-strike, they’re still pushing the classroom agenda Arkansas has already rejected. The Arkansas Education Association’s website still hosts toolkits for teachers to promote DEI in the classroom, telling educators they can:
“Learn about how racial bias in things like school resourcing and discipline impacts students of color.”
Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders has already banned DEI in Arkansas public education. The AEA is running it anyway. The left knows a governor like Huckabee Sanders will never let the state’s education system go woke through the front door, which is exactly why leftists like Shoffner are trying to hand teacher’s unions the leverage to force it through the back door via the PRO Act.
Shoffner’s PRO Act pledge puts her in lockstep with the most radical wing of the national Democrat Party, including Kamala Harris, Elizabeth Warren, and AOC – all of whom Shoffner has donated to over the years.
Kamala Harris co-sponsored the PRO Act as a senator in 2019. Elizabeth Warren reintroduced it in the Senate in 2022, with a press release explaining it would “support the right to unionize by prohibiting states from banning union security agreements through ‘right-to-work’ laws.” Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has spent years whipping up grassroots pressure for the bill, telling her followers on X, “The calls work, folks ➡️ ☎️ #PROAct.”
All three have also long embraced May Day itself with Harris marking it in 2019 with a post about “the dignity of work,” Warren using the holiday in 2023 to reintroduce workplace legislation, and Ocasio-Cortez posting “See you on May Day!” ahead of this year’s holiday. Shoffner is borrowing the Communist left’s policies and their calendar.
This isn’t the first time Shoffner’s alignment with the far-left has surfaced. Loomer Unleashed has previously reported that Shoffner supports Kamala Harris backed red meat restrictions to fight climate change, and separately, that she supports abolishing ICE, putting her alongside Harris, Warren, and AOC.
Arkansas voters deserve a senator who answers to them, not to the Communist AOC-Warren-Harris wing of the Democrat Party. Hallie Shoffner made her allegiance loud and clear at a Communist holiday rally, and luckily, it’s on video.
Arkansas should reject Shoffner at the ballot box in November.
