The news for New York 21 “Republican” congressional candidate Robert Smullen continues to get worse ahead of Tuesday’s New York GOP congressional primary.
Last week, Loomered.com exposed how Smullen voted with socialist New York Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani on “getting Trump,” trans rights, DEI, and climate change during their time together in the New York State Assembly. Smullen, a Republican Assemblyman now running for Congress in New York’s 21st District, is on the ballot in the June 23, 2026 GOP primary against Anthony Constantino, who has been endorsed by President Donald Trump.
Now, FEC records and social media records reviewed by Loomered.com show that Smullen’s congressional campaign has been paying John Molloy, the President of Queensbury Greens, for “strategic consulting.” Queensbury Greens is a left-wing organization with a documented history of Trump hatred, pro-abortion activism, and support for radical anti-Trump protest movements.
FEC records reviewed by Loomered.com show that Smullen’s campaign made multiple 2026 payments to John Molloy for “strategic consulting.” The payments were sent to Molloy’s address in Queensbury, New York.
Social media records also show that John Molloy has been identified as the President of Queensbury Greens. A 2017 Queensbury Greens social media post listed Molloy with that title. Other photos from Queensbury Greens show Molloy standing front and center in the freezing cold and snow in support of Planned Parenthood.
Additional social media records from Queensbury Greens also prove that the organization supports far-left causes, such as intense hatred of Trump. Following President Trump’s 2016 election victory, the Queensbury Greens attended an anti-Trump protest where attendees screamed: “This pussy grabs back.”
The Queensbury Greens X account also referred to President Trump as a fascist, posting in 2017:
“Trump’s plan is to fill his administration with right-wing fascists who will aid his rise to authoritarianism.”
The same Queensbury Greens account also promoted the anti-Trump protest movement, writing:
“Greens all across the country have turned out to protest against President Trump. The frontline of the revolution is here, now, with us.”
So while Smullen is running in a Republican congressional primary and presenting himself to GOP voters as a conservative, his campaign has paid the president of an organization that publicly aligned itself with anti-Trump protest politics and the woke left.
This comes after Loomered.com already exposed Smullen’s voting record in Albany.
In 2022, Smullen voted in the New York Assembly for the Adult Survivors Act, the law that later allowed E. Jean Carroll to sue President Trump after the statute of limitations would otherwise have blocked the claim. New York’s Adult Survivors Act created a one-year lookback window allowing civil claims over alleged sexual offenses that were otherwise time-barred. The bill passed the Assembly in May 2022 and was signed by Governor Kathy Hochul, enabling lawfare against President Trump. Standing with survivors wasn’t the point. The point was getting Trump.
Smullen voted on the same side as Zohran Mamdani, and it doesn’t stop there.
In 2021, Smullen also voted with Mamdani on A03355, the bill repealing New York’s loitering statute related to prostitution offenses, a measure celebrated by the left as the repeal of the so-called “Walking While Trans” law. The official bill summary reads: “Repeals provisions relating to loitering for the purpose of engaging in a prostitution offense; makes technical corrections relating thereto.” The Assembly announced the bill’s passage on February 2, 2021, and described it as repealing the “Walking While Trans” ban.
After the bill passed, Mamdani boasted on X in 2021:
“Today, I’m ecstatic to say that the Assembly has passed A03355 with a 105-44 vote, repealing the #WalkingWhileTrans (section 240.37 of NYS penal law). Advocates, like TS Candii, have been fighting for this for years and it hasn’t been easy.”
Smullen also voted with Mamdani on legislation establishing the Lorena Borjas Transgender and Gender Non-Binary Wellness and Equity Program and fund. Governor Kathy Hochul’s office stated that the bill created a fund to support organizations providing services for the “transgender, gender non-conforming, and non-binary community.”
That is the record Smullen is now dragging into a Republican congressional primary.
Smullen voted with Zohran Mamdani on legislation used by the left’s lawfare machine against President Trump. He voted with Mamdani on trans-related legislation. His campaign then paid John Molloy, the President of Queensbury Greens, an organization that openly promoted anti-Trump protest politics and called Trump’s administration a vehicle for “right-wing fascists.”
Smullen’s own campaign website describes him as a “conservative reformer” and a “trusted voice for Upstate New York.” But the record tells a very different story.
New York 21 Republicans deserve to know exactly who Smullen voted with, who his campaign is paying, and what political networks are orbiting his campaign.
The facts are clear. Robert Smullen is not a conservative. His voting record proves he sides with woke politicians like Zohran Mamdani. Republican voters in New York’s 21st congressional district cannot trust him to be a conservative voice in Congress.
