This week on Capitol Hill, we confronted multiple Democrat members of Congress with a simple question: Will you disavow Hasan Piker’s anti-American and violent rhetoric? Not one of them gave a straight answer.
From Ro Khanna to Rashida Tlaib to Summer Lee, when given the opportunity to reject statements like “America deserved 9/11” or jokes about killing a sitting U.S. Senator, they deflect, dodge, and walk away.
California Congressman Ro Khanna was the first to be confronted. When asked directly whether he would disavow Piker’s comments, Khanna tried to distance himself without actually addressing the issue.
“Of course America didn’t deserve 9/11,” he said.
But when pressed on Piker’s violent rhetoric, Khanna suddenly claimed he didn’t know who we were and attempted to end the conversation. Moments later, he rushed off toward the cafeteria, refusing to give a clear answer.
FEC filings show Khanna’s campaign committee, RO FOR CONGRESS INC, funneled $50,000 to the DCCC, along with additional contributions to New Hampshire Democrat groups on the same day. With New Hampshire likely playing a key role in the 2028 presidential primary, these moves point to a potential presidential campaign for the California Democrat, raising the stakes for his position on these issues.
At the same time, Khanna has longstanding ties to the National Iranian American Council (NIAC) Action PAC, which has promoted him as an advocate for policies aligned with reentering the Iran nuclear deal and scaling back U.S. involvement in the Middle East.
This is the same organization recently exposed at protests in Washington, D.C., where demonstrators were seen waving Iranian regime flags.
Then there’s Rashida Tlaib. Just one day before the Khanna confrontation, Tlaib was approached in the Capitol as she walked toward an elevator with staff. When asked to disavow Piker’s statements, she refused to engage and instead pivoted into talking points.
Even after being asked directly about Piker’s comment about killing Sen. Rick Scott to protect Medicare, Tlaib avoided the question and attempted to deflect attention. She even asked why we’re “picking on” Hasan!
FEC records show Tlaib has financially supported Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed through her PAC, and she has appeared publicly alongside both El-Sayed and Piker at events.
At one of those events, Tlaib went even further, suggesting that members of Congress could be capable of committing atrocities against Americans domestically:
“Rashida, you are always talking about genocide in Gaza. I tell them if any member of Congress can support a genocide like that. What else are they supporting right here in our backyard at home?”
Pennsylvania Congresswoman Summer Lee followed the same script. When confronted about her past comments and associations, Lee refused to respond and physically shut down the interaction by closing an elevator door rather than answering questions.
And just last week, Ilhan Omar joined Hasan Piker on his platform, then refused to disavow his rhetoric when confronted, adding her name to the growing list.
Elected Democrats are willing to appear alongside, collaborate with, and amplify Piker at every opportunity despite past statements about attacking the United States and joking about political violence.
Piker is a Communist and a rabid antisemitic Islamist who wants to destroy this country. Anyone who refuses to disavow him should be exposed so voters can hold their representatives accountable at the ballot box.
