New FEC filings reveal that radical Democrats are pouring money into Roy Cooper’s campaign for the U.S. Senate, demolishing the myth that he’s a “moderate.” Top House and Senate Democrats who are openly advocating for President Donald Trump’s removal from office are funding Cooper’s U.S. Senate campaign, tying him directly to a growing “Get Trump” apparatus inside the Democrat Party whose number one priority is to impeach President Trump as soon as they get the gavel.
Congressman Jamie Raskin, a former January 6 Committee member who has now re-emerged as one of the leading voices pushing for Trump’s removal via the 25th Amendment, donated $2,000 to Cooper’s campaign through his Democracy Summer Leadership PAC on March 18, 2026. On April 14, Raskin introduced legislation to establish a mechanism that could be used to remove President Trump from office.
On April 7, Raskin called President Trump “deranged” and explicitly called for the invocation of the 25th Amendment. Just days later, on April 10, Raskin sent a formal letter demanding a cognitive and neurological evaluation of the President, citing what he described as “incoherent, volatile, profane, deranged, and threatening” behavior. This is from someone who supported Joe Biden throughout his term, as he was clearly dealing with dementia and other health issues that made him unfit for office.
In his letter, Raskin cited comments from former Representative Marjorie Traitor Greene, signaling how Democrats are now weaponizing former Trump allies to build their case for removal. Now that she opposes President Trump, Greene will be cited by Democrats and their media allies before she’s discarded once she is no longer useful to them.

Greene has aligned herself with anti-Trumpers, including George Soros, whose funding for woke District Attorneys across the U.S. has created a major public safety hazard by releasing thousands of criminals and illegal aliens onto America’s streets.
Raskin’s April 14 press release outlines a process by which Congress could trigger a commission to determine presidential “capacity,” paving the way for removal under the 25th Amendment.
While Raskin builds the legal framework, Senate Democrats funding Cooper are laying the political groundwork. Maryland Senator Chris Van Hollen, through the Hollen Cooper Victory Fund, funneled $71,500 into Cooper’s campaign on March 31, 2026. In the weeks that followed, Van Hollen unleashed a series of statements attacking President Trump’s mental fitness and authority as Commander-in-Chief, repeatedly describing Trump’s actions in Iran as “illegal” and dangerous.
Hawaii Senator Mazie Hirono, who also donated to Cooper through her Pineapple PAC on March 31, echoed the same narrative, blaming Trump for economic instability and framing his foreign policy decisions as unlawful. Hirono is known as the dumbest member of the U.S. Senate, and that’s saying something considering her Democrat colleagues.
Donations contunited to Cooper on March 30th, as the Blue Senate Candidate fund contributed. This committee is made up of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC), Sherrod Brown (Friends of Sherrod Brown), Jon Ossoff (Jon Ossoff for Senate), Chris Pappas (Chris Pappas for Senate), Mary Peltola (Alaskans for Mary), and Alex Vindman (Alex Vindman for Florida).
Vindman, like Raskin, has already played a role in attempting to remove President Trump from office.
The same Democrats funding Roy Cooper are building the legal, political, and media case for removing President Trump from office. Cooper has already received backing from figures like Chuck Schumer and Cory Booker, many of whom have routed contributions through PACs designed to obscure direct political fingerprints.
Cooper’s own record makes clear where he stands. Following January 6, 2021, he declared that President Trump was “unfit to lead” and should be removed from office. More recently, he aligned himself with Democrat election lawyer Marc Elias, attacking Trump-aligned figures and reinforcing the same “threat to democracy” narrative now being used to justify removal efforts.
Roy Cooper is not an independent voice or a moderate Democrat. He is being financed by the very architects of the most radical Democrats in the country who will stop at nothing to get Trump. From Raskin’s 25th Amendment sham to Senate Democrats laying the political groundwork, the objective is clear: win the midterms, secure the votes, and remove President Trump from office.
Cooper won’t campaign on removing Trump from office in North Carolina because it’s unpopular. The media has labeled Cooper a moderate to support his campaign so he can do what Abigail Spanberger did in Virginia and what former Clinton political machine leader James Carville said in a recent interview: campaign as moderates and then institute radical left policies no one voted for.
Roy Cooper will be a reliable vote for the Democrats’ thinly-veiled coup attempt against President Donald Trump. It’s up to North Carolina voters to see through the lies of Cooper’s campaign and his media backers and keep him out of the U.S. Senate.
