North Carolina Democrat Roy Cooper wants voters to believe he is a “moderate,” but Federal Election Commission records tell a different story. Cooper’s Senate campaign is deeply tied to the same Democrat consultant network that worked for Joe Biden. At the same time, Cooper’s campaign is receiving donations from Chuck Schumer’s political machine, consisting of numerous Senate Democrats and Schumer allies.
FEC records show Roy Cooper’s campaign committee, Cooper for North Carolina, paid Nexus Strategies $205,161.18 in 2025-2026. The same records show Cooper’s campaign also paid Spiros $92,628.00 in 2025-2026. These are not random vendors. Both firms have direct ties to Joe Biden’s presidential campaign.
Biden for President made multiple payments to Nexus Strategies and Spiros during the 2020 election cycle. Nexus Strategies even boasts about its Biden ties on its own website. The firm says co-founder Scott Falmlen served as a senior advisor to the Biden and Harris campaigns in North Carolina in both 2020 and 2024, coordinating strategy, research, paid communications, and in-state travel by Biden and Kamala Harris.
Spiros has also publicly celebrated its role in helping put Biden in the White House. In an internship posting at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, Spiros bragged that the firm was “proud to be part of the fight to retake the White House.”
So when Roy Cooper cuts checks to Nexus Strategies and Spiros, he is not hiring some independent North Carolina operation. He is relying on Democrat operatives with direct ties to Joe Biden’s political apparatus.
It’s also important to note Cooper’s ties to Schumer’s political network, which do not end at Senate Democrat donations to Cooper’s campaigns. Loomer Unleashed also reported that the DSCC, another Schumer-aligned entity, paid Marc Elias’s law firm more than $3 million in 2025 alone. Cooper then appeared on Elias’s podcast, where he bragged about expanding Obamacare and agreed with Elias that his Republican opponent, Michael Whatley, was a “threat” because of Whatley’s support for President Trump and election integrity.
North Carolina voters are being sold a pack of lies just like Virginia voters during Abigail Spanberger’s campaign for governor. Cooper is not some independent-minded Southern centrist. He is plugged directly into the consultant class that powers Biden and Kamala Harris’s operation.
If he wins, Cooper will pull the same bait-and-switch Spanberger did – campaign as a moderate and pass the most woke laws possible, including gun confiscation, protecting Islamists, and letting illegals run rampant by blocking cooperation with ICE agents.
In politics, follow the money and follow the consultants. Roy Cooper’s donors, vendors, and political allies all point in the same direction. They point to Joe Biden’s consultant class, Chuck Schumer’s Senate machine, Marc Elias’s lawfare network, and the national Democrat apparatus that has spent years pushing open borders, Obamacare expansion, Green New Deal-style mandates, and anti-Trump hysteria.
Roy Cooper is not running to represent North Carolina. He is running to serve as another rubber stamp for Chuck Schumer’s radical agenda in the United States Senate.
North Carolina voters should remember that when they head to the polls in November.
