Barack Hussein Obama is inserting himself into the 2026 midterm battlefield, and Virginia has become ground zero.
In a newly released political ad, Obama urges Virginians to vote in favor of a Democrat-backed redistricting referendum that would reshape the state’s congressional maps to favor Democrats just months before the midterms. The new map would create ten Democrat districts and a single Republican district in the grossest example of gerrymandering in United States history. All of Virginia would essentially be controlled by the socialists and bureaucrats in Northern Virginia, the same way Chicago controls the red state of Illinois and Seattle controls the state of Washington. The Democrats’ power grab would mean rural and suburban Virginians will have next to no power in Congress. It’s the most undemocratic thing they could possibly do ostensibly to “save democracy.”
The stakes are obvious. Control of the House could hinge on how districts are drawn in battleground states like Virginia, and Democrats are moving aggressively to tilt the playing field.
The ad is funded by Virginians for Fair Elections, a group with direct financial ties to top figures in the Democrat Party power structure. Virginia campaign finance records show the organization has received funding from Eric Holder’s National Democratic Redistricting Committee, along with contributions from House Democratic leadership figures, including Nancy Pelosi and Whip Katherine Clark.
In the ad, Obama invokes familiar rhetoric, warning that elections are “under threat” while flashing imagery of President Trump and his supporters. He then frames the referendum as a necessary step to “stop Trump,” positioning the ballot measure as a partisan weapon rather than a neutral reform.
“Free and fair elections are the cornerstone of our democracy, but right now they’re under threat… In April, Virginians can respond by making sure your voting power is not diminished by what Republicans are doing in other states. This amendment gives you the power to level the playing field in the midterms this fall. And voters will have the final say over what the maps look like. Virginia, we are counting on you. Republicans want to steal enough seats in Congress to rig the next election.”
The financial trail behind this effort tells the real story. Virginians for Fair Elections has received $10,873 from Holder’s National Democratic Redistricting Committee. Pelosi added $20,000. Katherine Clark contributed $25,000. This is not a grassroots push. It is a coordinated investment from the highest levels of Democrat leadership to empower their friends in Washington.
Holder himself has made clear that Virginia is a top priority. In a 2026 statement from the National Democratic Redistricting Committee, he echoed Obama’s messaging and accused Republicans of attempting to rig the midterms.
“The continuing effort led by Washington Republicans to unfairly rig the midterm elections with an unprecedented series of mid-decade gerrymanders must be met head-on.”
Federal Election Commission filings reveal Soros-backed GeoSor Corp injected $52 million into Democracy PAC in January 2025. Just months later, Democracy PAC funneled $500,000 into Holder’s National Democratic Redistricting Committee. That money is now part of the broader ecosystem supporting redistricting efforts like the one unfolding in Virginia.
As previously reported by Loomer Unleashed, Hakeem Jeffries’ HMP PAC sent $250,000 to Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger’s campaign in 2025. Spanberger’s victory created the political conditions necessary for this redistricting fight to even exist. But now, after her infamous gun grab and the redistricting fight, her approval numbers are at a record low for a Virginia Governor, even lower than Governor “BlackFace” Ralph Northam.
National Democrats, their affiliated PACs, and a well-funded network tied to figures like Soros and Holder are converging on Virginia at a critical moment. This is not about fairness or democracy. It is about regaining power so Democrats can begin endless impeachment hearings against President Trump.
As the midterms approach, Democrats are investing heavily in structural advantages that could determine control of Congress before a single vote is cast. Obama’s involvement underscores the urgency on their side. When a former president is deployed to push a state-level referendum, it signals that the outcome is viewed as nationally consequential.
Virginia is now a test case for how far Democrats are willing to go to rig the elections so they never lose. It’s up to Virginians to reject this insane power grab at the ballot box and VOTE NO on the referendum to approve the new map on April 21.
