On April 1, Senate Democrats turned the steps outside the United States Supreme Court into a political circus, complete with coordinated protests, woke theatrics, and a total refusal to answer basic questions about election integrity all to prove one thing: they side with illegal immigrants over actual Americans.
Leading the raucous event was Democrat, pro-open borders Senator Alex Padilla, who appeared more interested in playing politics than engaging with legitimate press inquiries about the SAVE Act and the role illegal immigration could play in upcoming elections.
Padilla was on his way to speak at an anti-Trump, pro-open borders protest organized by CASA, a far-left group that has openly pushed for abolishing ICE. The demonstration coincided with President Trump’s appearance at the Supreme Court for arguments related to his birthright citizenship case, underscoring how Democrats and their radical Left, activist allies are mobilizing around immigration as a central political weapon because they need illegal immigrants to win elections.
As Padilla walked from the Senate toward the Court, Loomer Unleashed correspondent Charles Downs asked a direct question:
“Senator, are elected Democrats against the SAVE Act because you guys are banking on the illegal immigrant vote to win the midterm election?”
Instead of responding, Padilla was shielded by a group of protesters, many waving a massive transgender flag, who aggressively moved to block and intimidate Loomer Unleashed DC correspondent Charles Downs. Repeated requests for the Senator to call off the crowd were ignored. Rather than de-escalate the situation, Padilla appeared to use the activists as a buffer to avoid scrutiny and further questioning about his record.
The moment stands in stark contrast to Padilla’s own past rhetoric. In a previous incident, he took to the Senate floor to complain about being unable to ask questions inside a federal building, claiming he was “physically and aggressively forced out of the room” despite being recognized.
However, when faced with legitimate questions from the press, Padilla hid behind an aggressive crowd that was doing the blocking for him.
Loomer Unleashed has previously reported that Padilla has funneled money through a little-known entity called Defend the Dream, directing support to key Senate Democrats, including Sherrod Brown, Roy Cooper, and Jon Ossoff, without prominently attaching his name.
This fundraising structure raises serious questions about transparency, particularly in battleground states like Ohio, North Carolina, and Georgia where control of the Senate could be decided.
Footage from the protest further highlights the organized nature of the event. Tables were set up distributing pre-printed signs and T-shirts, while activists waved large flags and coordinated messaging. CASA’s involvement points to a broader activist infrastructure working in tandem with elected Democrats.
At one point, the demonstration veered into outright madness, with a group of older activists singing 1960s-style protest songs in a scene that underscored how disconnected the event was from the serious legal questions being argued inside the Court – arguments President Trump became the first sitting president to hear firsthand.
What unfolded outside SCOTUS was not a spontaneous protest. It was a coordinated political display involving elected officials, activist groups, donors, and messaging designed for maximum media impact while avoiding accountability.
When given the opportunity to answer a straightforward question about election integrity and the SAVE Act, Senate Democrats chose to hide behind the aggressive crowd instead of facing the public.
