Fresh off a campaign swing with Sen. Cory Booker, Roy Cooper’s U.S. Senate bid is being sold as a centrist alternative for North Carolina. But FEC records show that Cooper’s campaign is being propped up by the most radical, Trump-obsessed, open-borders Democrats in Washington, and by billionaire megadonors who have made “Abolish ICE” politics their personal crusade.
Booker is just the tip of the iceberg. As previously reported, Cory Booker joined Cooper on the campaign trail despite Booker’s well-documented anti-ICE activism and far-left record. But Booker is far from alone. In fact, Cooper’s donor list reads like a roll call of the Senate’s most extreme progressives.

Federal Election Commission filings show that Cooper’s campaign has been flooded with establishment Democrat money, starting with the Democrat Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC), which dumped $62,000 into Cooper’s campaign in 2025 alone. Checks also rolled in from nearly every major Democrat leadership PAC in the Senate, including:

Additional donations flowed in from Chris Van Hollen, Raphael Warnock, Jon Ossoff, Mark Kelly, Gary Peters, Tammy Baldwin, Tammy Duckworth, Jeff Merkley, Chris Coons, Elissa Slotkin, Lisa Blunt Rochester, Al Franken, Bob Casey, Amy Klobuchar, Dick Durbin, and Edward Markey. Many of their donations were on the same exact dates, signaling coordinated support.
The same senators bankrolling Cooper share one defining trait: total loyalty to the Democrat Party’s “Get Trump” agenda and no ties to North Carolina.
Every current senator listed voted guilty in the impeachment trials of President Donald Trump. Newer senators like Padilla, Warnock, and Ossoff joined the effort during the second impeachment once they were safely sworn in.
This is the caucus Cooper wants to join and it’s the group that’s funding him. Beyond impeachment hysteria, Cooper’s donors are unified in their hostility toward ICE and DHS.
On February 5, 2026, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer publicly declared war on ICE, accusing federal agents of “terrorizing communities” and demanding the agency be reined in. Kirsten Gillibrand echoed the sentiment weeks earlier, claiming ICE and DHS are “out of control” and threatening to block funding. Alex Padilla, another Cooper donor, went even further, accusing the White House of having “blood on its hands” and demanding zero additional funding for ICE and CBP.
Then there’s Chris Van Hollen, who traveled to El Salvador in an attempt to free an illegal immigrant gang member and bring him back to the United States, an extraordinary example of open-borders extremism. What has Sen. Van Hollen done for the actual U.S. citizens in his home state of Maryland?
Amy Klobuchar, another donor, has made anti-ICE activism a central pillar of her political brand, a record Loomered.com has already exposed in detail. If you think Gov. Walz is bad, wait for Klobuchar and her incompetent team to move into the governor’s mansion.

Cooper’s funding doesn’t stop with Senate radicals. Billionaire megadonors George and Alex Soros contributed $7,000, while Illinois Governor JB Pritzker added another $7,000 to Cooper’s campaign.
Alex Soros has praised global leaders who confront Trump. He’s a big backer of anti-ICE propaganda through Open Society channels. The Soros family is also responsible for donations to virtually every left-wing cause, from bankrolling the No Kings protests and Black Lives Matter to installing communist district attorneys in America’s largest cities.
Pritzker, meanwhile, has embraced full-scale lawfare. On February 5, 2026, he openly bragged about gathering evidence to pursue Trump’s administration and has repeatedly called for ICE to be removed from American cities altogether. Chicago is one of America’s most unsafe cities thanks to Pritzker’s antics. He’d rather run for president and attack Trump than improve quality of life in his own backyard.
The DSCC has proudly touted Cooper’s “record-breaking” fundraising, citing a Politico report claiming Democrats have an early edge in marquee 2026 Senate races. What they didn’t mention is where the money came from.
This isn’t the first time Cooper’s allies have tried to mislead North Carolina voters. As Loomered.com previously exposed, Democrats quietly rebranded Cooper’s gubernatorial X account under Josh Stein’s name, retroactively obscuring Cooper’s own open-border statements, including tweets demanding the National Guard be pulled from the southern border.
Chuck Schumer and Senate Democrats know there’s no such thing as a moderate Democrat. That’s why they’re pouring money into Roy Cooper while simultaneously trying to hide his real record from North Carolina voters.

Cooper is as extreme as it gets, and if he flips the Senate blue, you can say goodbye to the rights you hold most dear and hello to a packed Supreme Court, an end to the filibuster, and the addition of several new states that will always vote for Democrats, keeping them in power for generations to come.
