If Zohran Mamdani’s first 42 hours in office were meant to telegraph his priorities, his first major personnel decision removed all doubt.
On January 1, 2026, Mamdani installed radical socialist agitator Cea Weaver as Director of the Mayor’s Office to Protect Tenants, placing an avowed enemy of private property in command of one of New York City’s most economically consequential offices.
Mamdani has sent a clear message that AOC’s “Squad politics” now dominate the Democrat Party.
Weaver is not a neutral administrator. She is a career socialist operative whose life’s work has centered on dismantling landlord rights, sabotaging private housing markets, and reframing property ownership as immoral. As Executive Director of Housing Justice for All, a coalition of more than 80 far-left tenant organizations, Weaver helped engineer nearly every catastrophic housing policy that has hollowed out New York over the last decade.
Under her leadership, Housing Justice for All:
- Pushed through the 2019 Housing Stability and Tenant Protection Act, which stripped landlords of basic incentives to maintain properties and drove thousands of stabilized units offline
- Extended COVID eviction moratoria for years beyond emergency necessity
- Championed the 2024 Good Cause Eviction law, effectively erasing landlords’ ability to remove nonpaying tenants
- Secured the 2025 Housing Access Voucher Program, further socializing private housing costs
Each “victory” accelerated disinvestment, building decay, and housing scarcity, while Weaver dismissed the fallout as acceptable collateral damage in her war against private ownership.
Archived social media posts expose the fraud behind Weaver’s so-called grassroots activism. In 2017, she openly solicited paid protesters, staging “Paid Protest + Karaoke” events to manufacture outrage for Democratic Socialists of America campaigns demanding universal rent control and outright rent abolition. This wasn’t advocacy, it was astroturf coercion, designed to intimidate property owners and deceive the public.
Her radicalism peaked during COVID, when Weaver spearheaded the largest coordinated rent strike in decades, organizing mass nonpayment across dozens of buildings. She didn’t call for temporary relief; she demanded permanent rent cancellation, openly admitting the goal was to “force a crisis” and prevent any return to the pre-COVID housing system. Her coalition paired “Cancel Rent” with “Defund the NYPD,” blockaded courthouses, and celebrated landlord foreclosures as revolutionary justice.
Now, with Weaver embedded inside Mamdani’s administration, these tactics move from the streets into City Hall.
Developers already fleeing New York’s hostile regulatory climate will face an office designed to obstruct, delay, and punish private investment. Small landlords, who maintain millions of units across the city, will be crushed under weaponized complaints, endless compliance demands, and bureaucratic harassment. New housing supply will evaporate as risk becomes intolerable, ensuring deeper shortages and higher rents for everyone else.
Make no mistake: This is socialist economic warfare in action in the heart of America’s greatest city.
And it fits seamlessly with the ideological message Mamdani broadcast during his inauguration: anti-American grievance politics, open-border radicalism, hostility toward Jews, and full-throated democratic socialism, backed by AOC, Bernie Sanders, Letitia James, and the enforcement arm of the Democrat Party.
The symbolism came first: Hamas-adjacent rhetoric, Quran oaths in subway tunnels, and the cancellation of anti-Semitism protections. The enforcement came next.
Zohran Mamdani’s mayoralty is not about governance, it is about regime change. And with figures like Cea Weaver now empowered inside City Hall, New York is being positioned as the proving ground for the Squad’s most extreme experiment yet.
Socialist Jihadists in Control of the Democrat Party
AOC’s opening speech at Mamdani’s swearing-in ceremony was filled with political race card rhetoric. She cheerfully emphasized that Zohran was a Muslim and an immigrant. During a recent Capitol Hill fundraiser for AOC, she refused to denounce Mamdani for using the phrase “globalize the intifada.” Numerous House Democrats, like Jerrold Nadler, also attended the event and refused to denounce Mamdani’s “globalize the intifada” policies when pressed by Loomer Unleashed.
Embracing Islam was a common theme among New York elected officials in attendance, as it seems that New York Governor Kathy Hochul appeared to be wearing a Keffiyeh as she sat behind Mamdani.
Meanwhile, Senator Sanders’ speech before he administered the oath of office made reference to thanking Mamdani’s supporters for taking on President Trump.
Mamdani’s speech was riddled with socialist policies, proclaiming that the era of big government is back. He pledged to govern like a democratic socialist. To those who said Mamdani’s radical politics were just an electoral ploy to win the primary: you are wrong.
Hate for America and all it stands for was proudly on display. Before the ceremony even began, Mamdani’s father, Mahmood Mamdani, who has a history of celebrating suicide bombings, has expressed sympathy for Islamic terrorists in his anti-colonialism publications, and has taught controversial anti-American ideas as a professor of African studies at Columbia University, refused to put his hand over his heart during the National Anthem.
This set the stage for an extremely woke ceremony, where one poet dedicated his poem to trans, queer, gay, foreign people of color. It is important to note that Joe Biden’s inauguration ceremony also featured woke poetry. Mamdani’s ceremony also featured individuals impacted by ICE, a nod to the elected Democrats’ crazed pro-open border policies.
Pro-Hamas, anti-Trump protester Mohammad Kelhi, who is also a foreigner and arguably the face of the elected Democrats’ obstruction against ICE, was present and interviewed during Mamdani’s swearing-in ceremony.
During his speech, Mamdani made a weird reference about being a Muslim and eating bagels every Sunday. He even featured a pause, forcing the crowd to clap for the New York Palestinians.
Finally, Mamdani took over Mayor Adams’ @NYCMayor X account, which contained Adams’ posts, including those combating anti-Semitism, which is causing massive confusion.
As my X post highlighting Loomer Unleashed’s confrontation with Mamdani about his supporters harassing New York City Jews outside of synagogues also quotes an old post from Eric Adams on the @NYCMayor X account, which now features a picture of Mamdani, making it look like Zohran Mamdani wrote the statement condemning anti-Semitism.
This is the Democrats’ New MO
This is not the first time the Democrats have done this. In August, we exposed how North Carolina Democrats did something similar when Josh Stein took over the governorship from fellow Democrat Roy Cooper.
Cooper is now running for the North Carolina United States Senate seat. Spreading misinformation online is a tactic commonly associated with the left, following Obama’s history of routinely lying to Americans on social media during his presidency.
Over the last few days, two things have become clear: First, Zohran Mamdani’s ascension to mayor essentially crowns AOC’s Squad as the new leaders of the Democratic Party. Second, the elected Democrats are willing to sacrifice everything, including Americans’ public safety, in their efforts to “get Trump.”
