The Deep State is actively working to undermine President Trump’s foreign policy in a likely attempt to reopen America’s Southern border. Biden-era Deep State holdovers Tobin Bradley, the current United States ambassador to Guatemala, and Patrick Ventrell, the current Deputy Chief of Mission to Guatemala, are working to undermine President Trump’s foreign policy by supporting leftist politicians in a country that is key to ensuring America’s border remains secure from illegal immigrants and fentanyl.
On November 4, 2025, Congresswoman Elvira Salazar wrote a letter to Secretary of State Marco Rubio informing him that Bradley and Ventrell’s policies being enforced on the ground in Guatemala were out of line with the Trump administration’s foreign policy agenda. Rep. Salazar’s letter informed Rubio that US Ambassador to Guatemala Tobin Bradley and Deputy Mission Chief Patrick Ventrell were interfering in Guatemalan elections by calling Guatemalan judges and threatening them, by demanding they not vote for conservative candidates in the upcoming Guatemalan elections. In the letter dated November 4th, 2025, Rep. Salazar wrote that Ventrell personally called at least three Guatemalan officials, issuing threats. Rep. Salazar ended the letter by calling for Rubio to fire Bradley and Ventrell for these actions.
Given Bradley’s long history of working with elected Democrats, which includes being nominated by Joe Biden and confirmed by the Democrat-controlled Senate, Bradley’s election interference as the Ambassador at the US Embassy in Guatemala on behalf of leftist candidates should come as no surprise. Bradley’s 2023 US Senate confirmation testimony following Biden’s nomination of Bradley revealed that Bradley is a loyal foot soldier to the left’s foreign policy agenda. In his testimony, Bradley thanked Joe Biden and Biden’s Secretary of State Antony Blinken for believing in him. “I would like to thank President Biden and Secretary Blinken for the confidence they have shown in me and the privilege and responsibility to be considered for this position.”
Bradley’s US Senate testimony also featured Bradley using the term “root causes” when speaking about illegal immigration. The phrase “root causes” was infamously made famous by failed border czar Kamala Harris. Harris used the phrase in an attempt to pretend like she and Biden were implementing border policy by giving Central American countries American taxpayer dollars in an effort to curb illegal immigration. As everyone knows, Border Czar Harris’s illegal immigration strategy failed because there never was a strategy under Biden and Harris to stop the flow of illegal aliens into our country. It became evident to Americans and the entire world that importing illegals into the US was the Democrat’s main electoral strategy for the purpose of having illegal aliens cast ballots. Ultimately, this glaringly obvious act of criminality and disregard for law and order by Joe Biden and Kamala Harris played a larger part in Harris losing to President Trump in November 2024.
Media articles also reveal that Patrick Ventrell had a close working relationship with failed Border Czar Harris on immigration issues. During the Biden administration, Kamala Harris was sent to Guatemala to ensure the leftist candidate took power and to work on “root cause” immigration issues. This was highlighted in a 2024 Foreign Policy.com article which mentions Patrick Ventrell worked closely with Kamala Harris in Guatemala. The same article also mentions that on the same trip, Kamala Harris worked with Guatemalan counterparts to make it easier for illegal immigrants to get green cards. The article reads, “One key initiative Harris’s team and other National Security Council (NSC) officials worked on with Giammattei was the ‘safe mobility office’ initiative, to try to establish offices in the region where people could apply for asylum in the United States from afar or learn about the convoluted U.S. migration system before ever reaching the U.S. border.”
Bradley and Ventrell seem determined to hide their arguably treasonous actions from President Trump. A Biz Pac Review article highlights that 10 days after Rep. Salazar’s letter to Secretary Rubio, Deep State DOS officials released three statements to deflect from and camouflage their potential treasonous activities. It is also important to note that after scrolling through the official X account for the United States Guatemalan Embassy, there seems to be an operation ongoing to give off the impression that the embassy is complying with President Trump’s directives. However, actions are much more meaningful than words. Bradley and Ventrell’s behavior is not that out of the ordinary as entrenched Deep State bureaucrats have a long history of faking being loyal to President Trump while implementing policies that stab Trump, MAGA, and America in the back.
It is also important to note that other Trump world figures are calling on President Trump to fire Bradley and Ventrell. General Flynn recently shared an article on his X account that was published in The Stone Zone, calling for President Trump to fire these individuals. The article highlighted their Guatemalan election interference and alleged threats to candidates as justification for the call for their firings.
It is essential that President Trump has individuals committed to border security and America First immigration policies running the US Embassy in Guatemala, as the country’s location makes it a critical area in stopping the flow of illegal immigrants and fentanyl from entering America. The United States can drone strike drug boats all it wants, but America will not be able to fully secure the border without securing the land in countries like Guatemala, which is a key reason why President Trump must fire Bradley and Ventrell. No longer should unelected bureaucrats be allowed to undermine the Trump administration and the security of America’s borders.
