An investigation by Loomer Unleashed reveals that The American Conservative’s advisory board includes some of the most outspoken Trump haters on the “right”, such as Timothy P. Carney, Oren Cass, and Charles Marohn. It is also important to note that Jeff Sessions, the former failed Attorney General who allowed the fake Russia Collusion investigation to persist, also sits on The American Conservative’s board alongside Tucker Carlson, who once texted in 2021 that he hated President Trump. These facts, combined with The American Conservative’s recent article portraying JD Vance as a Nazi, raise serious questions as to the media company’s true intentions regarding the MAGA movement.
American Conservative Board Member Charles Marohn likes to portray himself as a “Christian conservative” championing small-town values, yet his disdain for President Trump tells a different story. Marohn plays a familiar game seen across the woke right: talking like a populist while pushing ideas completely out of step with the MAGA agenda. Marohn made his contempt crystal clear in a 2020 X post, boasting that he never voted for President Trump:
I didn’t vote for Trump, but I know many who did. Very few of them voted FOR him. Most voted AGAINST people like this.
Another glaring example of Marohn’s disconnect from the MAGA base was his extreme embrace of masking during the heyday of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021. He once posted to his X account: “WTF? Baffled? If everyone in North America wore a mask in public, this thing would be controllable in a month, at worst.” At a time when freedom-loving Americans were questioning government overreach, Marohn was preaching acquiescence.
However, Charles Marohn’s anti-Trump bias is mild compared to fellow American Conservative Advisory Board Member Timothy P. Carney’s anti-Trump statements. Like Marohn, Carney cloaks himself in Christianity and “conservative values” while pushing the false narrative that President Trump is somehow a threat to both. Carney attacked President Trump’s speech at Charlie Kirk’s memorial in September, stating: “There are two ways. The way of Christ or the way of Trump.”
Carney stood with Jimmy Kimmel when he was suspended by ABC News for saying Charlie Kirk’s killer was “anything other than one of them” – a smear aimed at MAGA conservatives. He shared a Truth Social post from President Trump criticizing ABC for reinstating Kimmel, adding: “Donald Trump keeps being the worst version of Donald Trump.”
Following the 2020 election, Carney attacked President Trump’s fight for voter integrity: “Trump is a conman. These cries of fraud and these weak legal challenges are his latest con.”
One day before the 2024 election, Carney told everyone not to vote for Trump:
“This is my case for voting none-of-the-above. Voting for Harris is endorsing evil policies. Voting for Trump is harming conservatism, the pro-life cause, and the GOP, plus driving more young people into an anti-family mindset.”
Each of Carney’s attacks on President Trump is more untethered than the next. The so-called “reasons” he offers for voting against Trump collapse the moment they’re exposed to even minimal scrutiny:
- President Trump has done more to redefine conservatism for a modern electorate than any president since Ronald Reagan, creating a broad new coalition that’s durable and powerful. President Trump’s Supreme Court appointments broke the tyranny of Roe v Wade, which even liberals acknowledge was wrongly decided. He didn’t just talk about pro-life values, he was also the first sitting president to speak to the March For Life. Young people, especially young men, are more likely than ever to identify as conservative. And the President has bucked conservative orthodoxy to expand government mandates related to paid family leave and other pro-family policies.
Loomer Unleashed has previously exposed Oren Cass as a Trump hater who seeks to grift off the MAGA movement. In 2016, Cass posted: “Refusing to support because of other supporters is illogical, sets lousy precedent. Be #NeverTrump because of Trump.”
Following President Trump’s first term, Cass confessed his support for Anthony Gonzalez, a former Ohio Congressman who voted to impeach President Trump: “Someone in particular who I’ve been impressed with is Congressman Anthony Gonzalez… He voted in favor of impeachment… and has done a lot of work focused on infrastructure…”
Cass is also the founder of American Compass, an influential think tank that claims to develop “the conservative economic agenda to supplant blind faith in free markets…” Jeff Sessions (no surprise) is counted among American Compass’s advisors. According to the Club for Growth, the organization has received nearly $2 million from the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation and the Omidyar Network, organizations connected to far-left groups like the Tides Foundation.
The Tides Foundation operates as one of the Left’s most powerful dark-money hubs, a donor-advised clearinghouse that channels hundreds of millions of dollars into progressive activism while shielding the identities of its wealthy funders. Through its financial-sponsorship model, Tides incubates and bankrolls countless left-wing organizations, including climate-radical outfits, open-borders nonprofits, gender-ideology networks, and anti-policing campaigns. It is the financial backbone of the progressive nonprofit complex, enabling new activist groups to spin up instantly with full institutional support, all while keeping the real donors hidden behind layers of anonymity.

The American Conservative’s advisory board also includes individuals who directly failed President Trump on policy matters. Board Member Jeff Sessions helped advance the Trump-Russia Collusion scam by recusing himself from the Justice Department’s biased investigation. President Trump pointed out this fact in 2023, posting to X:
“Jeff, you had your chance & you blew it. Recused yourself ON DAY ONE (you never told me of a problem), and ran for the hills. You had no courage, & ruined many lives. The dirty cops, & others, got caught by better & stronger people than you. Hopefully this slime will pay a big…”
President Trump also criticized Sessions’ handling of the Russia Collusion hoax in a 2018 X post:
“The Russian Witch Hunt Hoax continues, all because Jeff Sessions didn’t tell me he was going to recuse himself…I would have quickly picked someone else. So much time and money wasted, so many lives ruined…and Sessions knew better than most that there was No Collusion!”
For years, it has been suspected that many of the so-called “right-wing” voices pushing Jew hatred aren’t conservatives at all, but leftist operatives attempting to divide MAGA from within. The movement has survived media bias, impeachments, indictments, weaponized institutions, oppositional Democrats, and RINO Republicans. The only force capable of truly damaging MAGA isn’t external press, it’s infiltration from within.
And now, with Tucker Carlson sitting on the board of a publication stacked with anti-Trump operatives, while that same outlet circulates smears portraying JD Vance as a Nazi, the pattern is impossible to ignore. This isn’t organic criticism. It’s coordinated sabotage masquerading as “conservative debate” designed to undermine Trump, sow distrust, and fracture the coalition that threatens the ruling class.
One thing is for certain: JD Vance must take control of the situation, and that begins with publicly distancing himself from Tucker Carlson and his band of Trump-haters seeking to destroy the America First movement from within.
