Amid the 24th anniversary of the September 11 attacks and the shocking assassination of Charlie Kirk, prominent House Democrats, including Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.), and Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.), all failed to denounce political extremism and rhetoric that incites violence, including anti-Trump protests outside the White House where dangerous “antifa” propaganda was distributed. Democrats’ statements denouncing violence in response to Kirk’s death ring hollow especially given a documented pattern of deflecting inquiries into radical rhetoric and extreme organizations.
Evading Easy Questions on Capitol Hill
On Wednesday, the same day Kirk was assassinated and one day before the 9/11 anniversary, Rep. Rashida Tlaib was confronted by Loomer Unleashed where she tried her hardest to deflect a simple question asking if she regretted speaking at the People’s Conference for Palestine, where attendees called for the assassinations of American political leaders and the sabotage of U.S. supply chains. Strangely, Rep. Tlaib hysterically laughed as she was pressed to answer Loomer Unleashed’s basic questions.
As you may recall, The People’s Conference for Palestine, held in Detroit over in August, drew scrutiny for its embrace of extreme positions. For example, Speaker Nidal Jboor advocated for the assassination of politicians who don’t agree with Palestinians. The event also featured a youth program indoctrinating children as young as elementary age, with sessions led by activists from the Palestinian Feminist Collective who described participants as “young revolutionaries” in the fight against “Zionism.” Chants of “Generation after generation until total liberation,” could be heard against backdrops honoring “martyrs” linked to Hamas. The Palestinian Youth Movement, known for its anti-Trump protests outside the White House where attendees chant “86-47” and distribute antifascist propaganda, helped bus in protesters from Washington, D.C. to Detroit for the conference.

Mocking National Security Threats
Adding fuel to the flames, Rep. Ocasio-Cortez drew criticism on Tuesday, when questioned about the national security risks posed by the Muslim Brotherhood, a group the Trump administration is seeking an official terrorist designation for. During Loomer Unleashed’s questioning, AOC started joking about “butts” after being asked if the Muslim Brotherhood is a threat to American national security. Her odd response makes more sense when you consider that AOC hosted a promotional breakfast for radical NYC Mayoral candidate ZohranMamdani in Washington, D.C. Also on Tuesday, Rep. Eric Swalwell was directly questioned about the dangers of Islamic terrorism, just two days before the 24th anniversary of the September 11 attacks. Rather than addressing the inquiry from Loomer Unleashed regarding Islamic terrorism, Swalwell deflected by complimenting interviewer Charles Downs on his suit and walked away amid obvious discomfort from those who saw the exchange.

As America grapples with the fallout from Kirk’s death and the memory of 9/11, the pattern of deflection by Ocasio-Cortez, Tlaib, Swalwell, and Green when questioned about inciteful rhetoric indicates that elected Democrats have been fanning the flames of political violence toward MAGA supporters ever since President Trump first descended the golden escalator.
