WASHINGTON, D.C. —As lawmakers returned to Capitol Hill last week for a pivotal series of votes on the “Big Beautiful Bill,” several prominent Democrats—including Rep. LaMonica McIver (D-NJ), Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY), and Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA)—refused to denounce the extremist policies of New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani.
Mamdani, a self-described Democratic Socialist, has openly called for the abolition of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the seizure of the means of production, and unrestricted illegal immigration into American cities. President Donald Trump recently warned that Mamdani could face arrest if he interferes with federal immigration enforcement in New York City. Mamdani responded by accusing Trump of authoritarianism.
Rep. McIver Assaulted & ICE Agent And Is Supporting Mamdani by Default
Rep. McIver declined to comment when asked by Loomer Unleashed whether she supports Mamdani’s pledge to block ICE from deporting illegals in New York City.
Loomer Unleashed asked McIver, “Given your public run-in with ICE, do you support Zohran Mamdani’s pledge to block ICE from deporting illegal undocumented immigrants in New York City?” The freshman Congresswoman quickly ducked into a House office building, declining to respond.
McIver’s silence is particularly significant given her own history involving ICE. Her Newark district faces direct consequences from policies that weaken immigration enforcement. In spring 2025, McIver was caught on camera in an alleged altercation with ICE agents outside a federal facility—an incident she refused to apologize for when pressed by Loomer Unleashed. That incident, along with her failure to reject Mamdani’s dangerous rhetoric, signals that McIver is aligning with the open borders wing of her party.

Dan Goldman Deflects on Whether He Supports Mamdani’s Communist Agenda
New York Rep. Dan Goldman also avoided directly answering whether he supports Mamdani’s calls to seize the means of production, a hallmark of Marxist economics. Goldman has represented Manhattan and Brooklyn in New York’s 10th Congressional district since 2023. When pressed by Loomer Unleashed, Goldman pivoted to vague, misleading talking points about the Big Beautiful Bill, ignoring the substance of the question.
Goldman’s refusal to disavow Mamdani’s communist policies aligns with his earlier support of Mamdani. Goldman has previously defended Mamdani, publicly attacking Rep. Andy Ogles for posting a cartoon that portrayed Mamdani as a communist. Rather than engage the issue, Goldman labeled the cartoon “disgusting,” accusing Ogles of bigotry.

Swalwell Ducks Questions with Fashion Comments
of California also dodged questions about Mamdani’s policies. When asked whether he supported Mamdani’s pledge to keep ICE out of New York City, Swalwell deflected by making fashion-related remarks aimed at Loomer Unleashed reporter Charles Downs. The tactic mirrored a June exchange in which Swalwell again commented on Charles Downs’s clothing while avoiding questions about violent, open-border riots in Los Angeles.
Swalwell’s repeated refusal to address policy concerns reflects a broader pattern among Democrats unwilling to challenge the radical elements within their own party.

The failure of top Democrats to reject Zohran Mamdani’s far-left agenda is deeply concerning. His agenda includes calls to obstruct federal immigration enforcement. It also promotes adopting communist economic policies and widespread support for islamist movements. Together, these positions mark a radical shift in the Democrat Party’s priorities. Despite a clear warning from President Trump, Democrats appear increasingly tolerant of Mamdani’s anti-American platform. In some cases, they seem to support it outright. This radical shift suggests a troubling trend for Americans concerned about safety, national security, immigration enforcement, the end of woke policies, and economic stability.
