New York Assembly member and New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Kwame Mamdani has built a long legislative and social media history of embracing communist, anti-Jewish, and pro-Hamas policies, including accepting donations from radical Muslims like Linda Sarsour, fully embracing the BDS movement, and even sponsoring pro-BDS legislation in the New York Assembly. Given the radical left’s embrace of the Free Palestine movement, it should come as no surprise that polling shows Zohran Mamdani has gained momentum in the New York City mayoral race as the Democrat Primary date of June 24 quickly approaches. Not only has Mamdani gained momentum, but more importantly, he’s now leading in the polls.
Mamdani’s Radical Record: BDS, Anti-Israel Legislation, and Pro-HAMAS Posts
Zohran Kwame Mamdani’s support for BDS is so strong that he has attempted to make supporting Israel illegal in New York. During his time in the New York assembly, Mamdani sponsored bill A06101, titled the ‘Not on Our Dime!: Ending New York Funding of Israeli Settler Violence Act.’ The legislation aims to prohibit not-for-profit corporations from engaging in unauthorized support of “Israeli settlement activity.”
If enacted into law, A06101 would allow the state attorney general—currently Letitia James—to recover a civil penalty and, furthermore, create a private right of action for so-called ‘violations.’
Social Media Shows Mamdani’s Pattern of Defending HAMAS and Attacking Israel
Mamdani has an extensive social media history of supporting pro-Hamas policies like the BDS movement. In August 2020, Mamdani posted on his X account, “Occupation is profoundly evil. Apartheid is profoundly evil. #BDS is a righteous movement for liberation, one supported by queer people & Jewish people & socialists & abolitionists & all those who know another world is possible. That’s called solidarity. It’s profoundly good.”
On May 12, 2021, Mamdani reiterated this stance, writing, “We pay our electeds with our tax $$$ to represent us but they go on paid-for trips to Israel. We have 3 letters for them: #BDS Every elected must be pressured to stand with Palestinians, oppose Apartheid & assert that the fight for dignity knows no exception. #FreePalestine.”
Refusing to Condemn HAMAS After October 7 Massacre
Following Hamas’ attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, Zohran Mamdani posted on October 8, 2023, criticizing Israel’s response. Days later, on October 12, 2023, he responded to a post appearing to be critical of calls for Palestinians to reject Hamas. Specifically, the post he replied to said, “I call on law-abiding Palestinians to reject Hamas is Hochul’s message to Palestinian New Yorkers who fear for their loved ones in Gaza.” Mamdani quoted this post writing, “260+ Palestinian kids have been killed in the last day. Israel’s cut off food, water & electricity to 2M people in Gaza, calling them ‘human animals’. And this is the Governor’s answer to Palestinian NYers fearing for family? That humanity only exists for one people? Disgusting.” Yet, Zohran never once condemned HAMAS.
Zohran Mamdani Amplifies Extreme Posts
On October 13, just days after October 7th, 2023, Mamdami quoted a New York City Democratic Socialists of America post supporting pro-Hamas policies, adding, “We are on the brink of a genocide of Palestinians in Gaza right now – and the manufacturing of consent for sending even more US arms to Israel. Now is the moment for all people of conscience to call for a ceasefire and no more military funding.”
In December 2023, Zohran Mamdani shared a post that resembled Hamas propaganda by claiming HAMAS terrorist prisoners were actually just regular “citizens”. According to the post, “The IDF described these men as Hamas terrorists and Israeli media covered these images as the mass surrender of Hamas members. As civilian after civilian was identified from the video, Hani watched it and saw his own brother Mahmoud amongst those kneeling.”
Zohran Mamdani’s Anti-Israel, Pro-Hamas Rhetoric
In 2024, Zohran Mamdani’s rhetoric intensified. On April 6, during a speech, he stated, “This Ramadan feels different from past years because, as we break our fast each night, 1.1 million Palestinians are being starved by Israel—with full US support. We must continue to speak out against this genocide.” On May 29, he posted, “I have watched in horror as Israel massacred Palestinian babies in Rafah. In New York, if you donate to the IDF unit that bombed those tents filled with children, you will get a tax break. Tell your legislator: Not On Our Dime!”
During Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit to New York on September 26, 2024, Mamdani declared, “War criminals are not welcome in our city. Israel’s genocide and the indiscriminate bombing of Lebanon—and our funding of such crimes—must end immediately.”
Mamdani’s radical, pro-HAMAS policies continued in 2024, as his statement on the one year anniversary of October 7th referred to Israel’s actions following the Hamas attack as “genocidal”. On October 31, he affirmed, “I will always be clear in my language and based in facts: Israel is committing a genocide.” Zohran Mamdani has also refused to condemn HAMAS on multiple occasions.
From Anti-Zionism to Anti-Americanism: Mamdani’s 9/11 Messaging Pattern
Additionally, it is important to note that since 2021, Assembly member Zohran Kwame Mamdani has posted an identical message each September 11 on X. On September 11, 2021, he wrote, “Nearly 3,000 New Yorkers died on 9/11; 20 years later, the death hasn’t stopped. We mourn our neighbors who died that day, the hundreds of thousands who died in the wars that followed, and the unknown millions injured and displaced. In their memory, we work toward a better world.”
Notably, Mamdani repeated this exact statement on September 11, 2022, “Nearly 3,000 New Yorkers died on 9/11; 21 years later, the death hasn’t stopped. We mourn our neighbors who died that day. The hundreds of thousands who died in the wars that followed. The unknown millions injured & displaced. In their memory, we work toward a better world.”
On September 11th, 2023, Mamdani wrote, “Nearly 3,000 New Yorkers died on 9/11; 22 years later, the death hasn’t stopped. We mourn our neighbors who died that day. The hundreds of thousands who died in the wars that followed. The unknown millions injured & displaced. In their memory, we work toward a better world.” On September 11th, 2024, he wrote, “Nearly 3,000 New Yorkers died on 9/11. We mourn our neighbors who died that day. Jihadi Donors: Linda Sarsour Backs Mamdani for Mayor
Zohran’s copy-and-paste message shows he couldn’t care less about the anniversary of the September 11th Islamic terrorist attacks in New York City. Given Mamdani’s embrace of radical Islamic policies, this should come as no surprise. New York campaign records reveal that Linda Sarsour—a prominent Palestinian jihadi activist—has donated the maximum legal amount to Mamdani’s mayoral campaign. Also, Sarsour has a history of supporting jihad against President Trump and has campaigned alongside affiliates of Islamic terrorist groups.
The Danger to New York City if Mamdani Wins
Mamdani’s statements and legislative efforts make it clear that he is a dangerous, communist jihadist candidate. He could transform New York City into America’s jihadi capital if he succeeds in becoming the next Mayor of New York City. Moreover, it’s imperative that New Yorkers vote against Mamdani in the upcoming June NYC Mayoral primary election.
