Two Israeli Embassy Staff Members Gunned Down in Cold-Blooded Terror Attack Near Capitol as Antisemitic Violence Escalates
On Wednesday, May 21, just after 9 p.m., gunfire erupted near 3rd Street and F Street Northwest in Washington, D.C. A communist HAMAS sympathizer opened fire at the Capital Jewish Museum as two Israel embassy staffers, Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Lynn Milgrim were leaving, killing them both just one week before they were set to be engaged.
According to the Israeli Foreign Ministry, the victims were staff members at the Israeli Embassy in Washington. The Embassy posted a photo of the couple on X, mourning them as “our friends and colleagues” who “were in the prime of their lives.”
Murder Outside Jewish Event Sparks Antisemitism Concerns
Lischinsky, 28, a former IDF soldier and research assistant, was fatally shot alongside Milgrim, his girlfriend and fellow Embassy employee, as they left the American Jewish Committee’s ACCESS Young Diplomats Reception. The couple was reportedly ambushed near the Capital Jewish Museum.
Heartbreakingly, Lischinsky had planned to propose during an upcoming trip to Jerusalem. His X account reveals he was a supporter of President Donald Trump and had staunch pro-Israel views.
Pro-Hamas Suspect Shouted “Free Palestine” as He Was Arrested
Police arrested 30-year-old Elias Rodriguez of Chicago at the scene of the shooting. Eyewitnesses said Rodriguez shouted “Free, free Palestine” while being taken into custody. After killing Lischinsky and Milgrim, Rodriguez took out a Palestinian Keffiyeh and admitted to carrying out the shooting.
Authorities are investigating the murders as a targeted anti-Jewish hate crime.
President Trump swiftly condemned the killings in a post on Truth Social, and he extended condolences to the families. Jewish leaders are demanding accountability—and asking why some lawmakers still remain silent, and why many lawmakers continue to give oxygen to the violent and pro-HAMAS Palestinian movement.
Pro-Hamas Protests Escalate While Democrats Stay Quiet
The targeted pro-Palestinian terrorist attack resulting in a double homicide occurred amid escalating anti-Trump and pro-Hamas protests in D.C., where Hamas flags and antisemitic slogans have become increasingly common near the White House and US Capitol.
Despite the violence and explicit support for Islamic terrorism that is being displayed at these protests, prominent Democrats, including Reps. Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib, have refused to denounce these displays of pro-terror hate. Instead, many on the Left continue to ignore or deflect questions about their alignment with extremist and pro-terror rhetoric.
Omar Refuses to Answer for UNRWA Ties to Hamas
On February 3, Rep. Ilhan Omar was asked by Loomer Unleashed to respond to President Trump’s decision to defund the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) over their Hamas ties. She refused to comment. UNRWA has been accused of participating in the October 7th terrorist attacks in Israel, which left 1,200 innocent people dead.
The next day, February 4, anti-Trump, pro-Hamas activists protested outside the White House during a high-level meeting between President Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Demonstrators blocked Loomer Unleashed journalists attempting to film a Hamas flag. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer was also confronted after addressing the crowd. In multiple interviews, President Trump has referred to Senator Schumer as Palestinian, mocking his self-hatred as a Jew, and his support for Islamic jihadists who express a desire to murder Jews.
Luigi Mangione Propaganda Appears at D.C. Protests
On February 17, activists gathered for a “No Kings” protest at the Capitol, with demonstrators donning costumes to show their support for far-left activist Luigi Mangione, who shot and killed United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson in New York City on December 4, 2024.
Pro-Mangione materials also appeared at a March 15 “Tesla Takedown” rally targeting President Trump and Elon Musk.

Omar and Tlaib Refuse to Condemn Hamas Flags
On March 24, Rep. Omar brushed off questions from Loomer Unleashed, calling concerns about Hamas symbols outside the White House “ridiculous.” On March 26, Rep. Rashida Tlaib also refused to condemn the Hamas flags.
Bussed-In Protesters and Antifa Symbols Raise Alarm
By April, the protests showed signs of increased organization. On April 5, demonstrators waving Antifa and Hamas flags gathered near Congress. Some were filmed arriving in buses to Washington D.C.—suggesting coordinated mobilization and funding.
On April 10, Rep. Ilhan Omar once again refused to condemn the Hamas flag when confronted by Loomer Unleashed regarding the April 5 demonstration featuring support for Hamas.
A violent activist shielding her face with a paper was caught on camera threatening Loomer Unleashed journalist Charles Downs. The pro-Hamas demonstrator was captured telling Downs, a resident of D.C. to “get the f*ck out!” of D.C.
Luigi Fangirls Attempt to Block Press at Anti-Trump Rallies
The protests also showcased more bizarre displays of support for Luigi Mangione. On April 5, women dressed as “Luigi fangirls” protested outside ICE headquarters. A week later, on April 12, during a Georgetown “Tesla Takedown” protest, one woman attempted to physically block journalists with a “Game Over DOGE” sign.
Pro-Hamas Arrests Escalate as Congress Ignores the Threat
The trend continued into May, with another Mangione supporter filmed by Loomer Unleashed at an anti-Trump, pro-Hamas rally on the National Mall on May 18. This reached a boiling point on May 21—the same day of the embassy staff murders—when anti-Trump, pro-Hamas demonstrators were recorded by Loomer Unleashed being arrested during Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s House testimony.
Democrats Refuse to Lead, Fueling Dangerous Extremism
The repeated refusal of Reps. Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib to condemn Hamas flags—and now, silence after the murder of two Israeli diplomats—underscores a broader failure among Democrats.
Their tolerance of antisemitic, anti-Trump violence is a dangerous betrayal of American values. The First Amendment protects protest—but not incitement, not hate, and not silence in the face of terror. Elected Democrats and their anti-Trump allies should be ashamed of the dangerous rhetoric and behavior they continue to tolerate and promote.
