Democrats have weaponized the justice system to target President Trump with endless investigations and political prosecutions—they’re actively suing him and using the courts to block his executive actions through partisan injunctions. Yet, when it comes to criminal conduct within their own ranks, Democrats look the other way. Now, the tables have turned. President Donald J. Trump is backing federal charges against Rep. LaMonica McIver after she was caught on camera violently assaulting ICE agents in Newark, New Jersey. U.S. Attorney Alina Habba confirmed the prosecution Monday, making it clear: no one—not even a Democrat Congresswoman—is above the law.
President Trump: “The Days of That Crap Are Over”
President Trump addressed the McIver assault during a Fox News interview. The President responded to footage showing Rep. LaMonica McIver physically confronting federal immigration officers outside an ICE facility:
“Give me a break. Did you see her? She was out of control! She was shoving federal agents. The days of that crap are over! We’re going to have law and order!”
His statement marked the strongest public condemnation yet of McIver’s now-viral altercation with federal law enforcement, captured on video earlier this month. The incident underscores the growing double standard of Democrats who claim to uphold the rule of law—except when illegal immigration or one of their own is involved.
As previously reported by Loomer Unleashed, McIver has refused to apologize—even doubling down when confronted. McIver has even claimed it was her ”job” to act as she did.
U.S. Attorney Alina Habba formally charged Rep. McIver just hours after President Trump’s remarks. Habba announced formal charges under Title 18, U.S. Code, Section 111(a)(1) for assaulting, impeding, and interfering with federal law enforcement officers.

Democrat Cover-Up Begins: Dan Goldman Leads the Defense
Rep. Dan Goldman, a former federal prosecutor and one of Trump’s most aggressive critics in Congress, denounced the DOJ’s charges as “politically motivated”.
“What an absolute disgrace,” Goldman posted on X alongside a video attacking the Trump administration and U.S. Attorney Alina Habba. “As a DOJ prosecutor for 10 years, the allegations in that complaint are so pathetic and paper-thin that this charge can only be a politicized effort to intimidate and silence political opposition. Goldman’s Public Defense of McIver Fits a Pattern
As Loomer Unleashed has documented extensively, Rep. Dan Goldman has a long track record of defending unethical, partisan behavior and violent rhetoric—so long as it benefits his side. Just this month he defended Rep. Jasmine Crockett’s incitement of violence against Republicans. In November 2024, Goldman reacted with visible distress when Special Counsel Jack Smith dropped charges against President Trump.
Loomer Unleashed revealed Goldman’s ethically murky relationship with Judge Juan Merchan’s daughter, whose firm, Authentic Campaigns, represents him as a client. In May 2024, Goldman was caught on camera faking a phone call to dodge questions about his ties to Authentic and his behind-the-scenes coaching of Michael Cohen—the disgraced former Trump attorney with multiple felony convictions who became a Democrat star witness used to help indict President Trump. A separate Loomer Unleashed investigation revealed Goldman sent payments to Judge Merchan’s daughter’s home address, further fueling concerns about judicial conflicts of interest.
House Democrats know how aggressively anti-Trump Goldman is. Following the July 13, 2024 assassination attempt on President Trump, they attempted to place Goldman on a congressional committee investigating the attack. The appointment would have given an extreme Trump hater—already entangled in legal and ethical controversies surrounding lawfare against the President—direct influence over one of the most consequential investigations in modern American history.
Goldman continues his well-documented pattern of shielding political allies with his latest outburst over the charges against McIver. His career reflects the broader rot within the Democrat establishment: a willingness to shield allies from accountability while weaponizing the law against political enemies.
Caught on Camera: McIver Attacks ICE Agents, Then Plays the Victim
As Loomer Unleashed first reported, Rep. McIver was filmed shoving and berating ICE agents during what was supposed to be a routine congressional visit to Delaney Hall, a Newark detention facility.
Rather than take accountability, McIver blamed ICE agents for “escalating tensions”—despite being the aggressor. Instead of issuing an apology, McIver used her platform in a House Homeland Security Committee hearing to lash out at DHS Secretary Kristi Noem. She chose to continue her tirade in full view of the American public.
LaMonica McIver should be in jail, not Congress. She physically assaulted federal agents. Then, McIver was caught gaslighting the American people during a DHS hearing.
The culture of impunity extended further when Loomer Unleashed questioned Democrat Congressman Maxwell Frost about the video. Rather than condemn McIver, Frost responded by saying the assault “wasn’t that bad” and affirmed he “stands with Rep. McIver.”

Adding to the scandal is McIver’s financial relationship with House Democrat leadership. Campaign finance records reveal the freshman congresswoman funneled $30,000 to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) after being fast-tracked into prominent committee seats by House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries.
That figure exceeds the contributions from several senior members of Congress—including Rep. Eric Swalwell, who contributed just $10,000 to the DCCC this year.
McIver was sworn in on September 23, 2024, to serve the remainder of the late Rep. Donald Payne Jr.’s term. That same day, she was appointed to the House Committee on Homeland Security. Additionally, she was assigned to the House Committee on Small Business and was named Ranking Member of the Transportation and Maritime Security Subcommittee—a key leadership role overseeing matters of national security and infrastructure.
House leadership handed these high-level appointments to a freshman lawmaker just hours after she entered Congress. This raised immediate concerns about favoritism and political pay-to-play, while prompting questions about the basis of her advancement—and who may have facilitated it.
Assaulting law enforcement is rewarded with power—if you’re a Democrat. McIver’s meteoric rise and her subsequent donations illustrate how identity politics and campaign contributions overshadow merit or public safety within today’s Democrat Party. ICE and Border Patrol agents face threats not only from criminal illegals. They’re also undermined by members of Congress who swore to uphold the Constitution.
