NIH Fellows United, a union representing federal medical employees, organized a protest outside the Department of Health and Human Services headquarters in opposition to President Trump. NIH Fellows United is backed by the United Auto Workers Union, whose President, Shawn Fain, has publicly criticized President Trump.
On Wednesday, exclusive footage taken by Loomer Unleashed captured a gathering of protesters outside the headquarters of the Department of Health and Human Services. The individuals in attendance predominantly expressed their opposition to Donald Trump while also articulating their dissent towards Elon Musk and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. A notable number of demonstrators displayed picket signs inscribed with “UAW.”

The United Auto Workers (UAW) website announced the successful organization of NIH Fellows United. A statement from the UAW noted, “In a historic outcome, NIH Fellows United-UAW has been formed, with approximately 98% of voters supporting the initiative. A total of 1,601 employees cast their votes in favor of unionization, while only thirty-six opposed the measure.”
During the 2024 election, United Auto Workers (UAW) President Shawn Fain issued a critical statement regarding President Donald Trump. He asserted, “Donald Trump is a billionaire who has never engaged in a genuine work role throughout his life. He lacks an understanding of the principles of hard work and would not endure a single day in an auto manufacturing facility. He is unfit to be an autoworker and, by extension, is likewise unqualified to serve as President. Trump does not comprehend our needs, does not respect our labor, and certainly does not represent our interests. His concern for autoworkers is absent. The sole objective Trump has regarding autoworkers is to secure their votes. Donald Trump is akin to a scab.”
Under the leadership of President Fain, the United Auto Workers (UAW) endorsed Kamala Harris during the 2024 presidential election. The endorsement statement released by the UAW reads, “Donald Trump, who is a scab and a lapdog for the billionaires, and Kamala Harris, who has stood with working people and walked a picket line.”
It is essential to note that the United Auto Workers (UAW) Political Action Committee (PAC) made two contributions of $105,000 each to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) during the 2024 election cycle. Additionally, the UAW PAC provided financial support to Democratic candidates Ruben Gallego of Arizona and Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin, both of whom were engaged in competitive Senate races.
Upon departing from the HHS protest on Wednesday, Maryland United States Senator Chris Van Hollen greeted attendees. However, he declined to respond to a query from Loomer Unleashed regarding whether his participation at the protest was influenced by the UAW’s PAC contributions to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC).
It is noteworthy that supporters of Senate Democrats are responsible for organizing a significant number of the protests occurring in Washington, D.C.
