“Obstructing Trump” is a Durbin family affair. On Thursday, Ranking Senate Judiciary Committee Member Dick Durbin obstructed Kash Patel’s FBI Director nomination by one week after utilizing a Senate rule that allows for committee members to delay nominee votes by a week. Following Durbin’s obstruction, Laura Loomer broke the story that Durbin’s daughter, Jen Durbin, operates a production studio in Brooklyn, New York, that produces scripts for actors to protest Kash Patel. Durbin’s daughter also produces scripts for actors to protest RFK JR and Elon Musk. The Senate Democrats’ obstruction continues to get more absurd by the day.
The beginning of the scripts produced by Jen Durbin, for actors to protest President Trump’s nominees and allies reads, “I’m calling to urge [Senator’s Name] to take a strong stand against the dangerous influence of figures like Elon Musk, the OMB nominee Vought (author of Project 2025), RFK Jr., and Kash Patel. Here’s why:”
The script is then broken into four separate paragraphs. Kash Patel’s paragraph reads, “Kash Patel is a serious threat to democracy. He played a key role in Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 election and has a history of undermining U.S. intelligence agencies. He should be nowhere near the FBI.”
Jen Durbin’s scripts also teach actors how to protest RFK Jr, Elon Musk, and Russ Vought. RFK JR’s script reads, “RFK Jr. is a dangerous conspiracy theorist. He spreads disinformation about vaccines, public health, and democracy. His influence endangers the health of our children and destabilizes trust in science and government.”
The scripts produced by Jen Durbin then encourage actors to contact Republican Senators, who many believe could vote against President Trump’s nominees. The Republican Senators listed on Jen Durbin’s scripts are Bill Cassidy, Mitch McConnell, Lisa Murkowski, Todd Young, and Susan Collins.
Loomer Unleashed and Senator Durbin have built a contentious relationship over Kash Patel’s confirmation period. During Patel’s confirmation hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee last week, Durbin showed a massive poster of Laura Loomer and Kash Patel in an attempt to pain Patel as an extremist.

It is also important to note that on Thursday, as he was walking in to obstruct Kash Patel’s Senate Judiciary Committee vote, Senator Durbin started making noises in what appeared to be an attempt to drown out Loomer Unleashed’s question to him: “Are you slow-walking Kash Patel’s nomination to be FBI Director because you’re afraid Kash is going to release the Epstein flight logs?”
Senator Durbin has been one of the most powerful Senators on Capitol Hill since 2005, meaning Durbin and his family have been heavily influencing America’s policies for 20 years. President Trump’s election victory in November was a mandate from the people to remove people like the Durbin family from power. Senate Republicans must stand strong and do whatever it takes to confirm President Trump’s nominees.
