The Senate Judiciary Democrats, who will be the Left’s leading obstructionists regarding a lot of Trump’s nominees, are committed to open borders as they held a hearing last week about obstructing President Trump’s mass deportations. Indiana Senator Todd Young informed CNN that he was not committed to supporting President Trump’s Secretary of Defense Nominee Pete Hegseth, saying, “I haven’t decided yet, as I’ve shared with him and happy to share with others…We had a good meeting. It was an extensive conversation, and he answered the questions I asked.”
Iowa Senator Joni Ernst has also been noncommitted to voting “Yes” on Hegseth, instead saying she “will support him through the process.” It is telling that Ernst and Young are not “all in” in supporting President Trump’s nominees, considering that during the 2024 election, Trump won Iowa by 56%-42% and Indiana by 58%-39%.
