It’s MAGA vs. The RINOS. Tuesday’s Florida State Senate Seven GOP Primary is a critical race that will determine the future of the Republican Party. Florida State Seven candidate Tom Leek ignited a pointless GOP Civil War last winter by endorsing and donating to Ron DeSantis’ presidential campaign. The pointless GOP Civil War wasted millions of dollars that could have been spent on election integrity in November’s election. Worse, Leek previously donated to former Florida United States Senator Bill Nelson and 2004 Florida Democrat United States Senate Nominee Betty Castro. If that is not bad enough, Leek’s PAC has accepted donations from unions AFSCME and SEIU, who have endorsed Kamala Harris. Leek also can not be trusted with your child’s education as Leek’s PAC also took donations from the Florida Education Association. According to the Florida Education Association’s website, the education union is, “One of five” merged” states, meaning we(The Florida Education Association) are affiliated with both the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) and the National Education Association (NEA).” The American Federation of Teachers has endorsed Kamala Harris, and its President, Randi Weingarten, is a Trump hater and pro-masker. The National Education Association has also endorsed Kamala Harris. Tom Leek’s horrific record has not been ignored as President Trump has endorsed Leek’s GOP Primary Opponent, David Shoar. Florida voters must hand Leek a massive defeat at the ballot box.
Tom Leek seems to enjoy helping Democrats grow their United States Senate majority. FEC records show that Leek donated to former Florida United States Senator Bill Nelson and 2004 Florida United States Senate candidate Betty Castro. As Sunshine State voters know, Florida’s United States Senate races are usually vital in determining the control of the United States Senate.
When he is not helping United States Senate Democrats, Leek seems to enjoy creating divisions within the Republican Party. Leek endorsed Ron DeSantis over President Trump during the GOP Presidential Primary.
Worse, Tom Leek financially contributed to creating divisions within the GOP by donating eight times in 2023 to Ron DeSantis or PACs supporting DeSantis’ presidential campaign. It is very telling that Leek donated to DeSantis in late November of 2023, a time when GOP presidential primary polling showed President Trump taking a commanding lead in Iowa and nationally.
When he is not helping Democrats, Leek is taking money from unions who back the Left. Florida campaign finance records also show that the union AFSCME donated $7,500 to Leek’s Living Life With Purpose PAC in 2021 and 2022.
It gets worse as Florida campaign finance records also reveal that the union SEIU donated $1,000 to Leek’s Living Life With Purpose PAC in 2023.
Both AFSCME and SEIU are Trump haters and supporters of Kamala Harris. AFSCME’s endorsement of Harris reads, “Together with Kamala Harris, Tim Walz will defend our freedoms — to care for our families, to have a voice on the job, to thrive. We look forward to mobilizing the full strength of our union to ensure that this dynamic ticket wins on Nov. 5.”
Worse of all, Leek has accepted donations from teachers unions who support masks and Kamala Harris. Florida campaign finance records also show that the Florida Education Association donated $2,500 to Leek’s Living Life With Purpose PAC in 2021 and 2023.
According to the Florida Education Association’s website, the union is “merged” with the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) and the National Education Association (NEA), “FEA is one of five ‘merged’ states, meaning we are affiliated with both the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) and the National Education Association (NEA). AFT and NEA have a combined membership of four million educators. FEA and its local unions are also part of the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO) and the Florida AFL-CIO.”
The American Federation of Teachers has endorsed Kamala Harris with their statement reading, “The AFT has officially endorsed Kamala Harris as the Democratic nominee for president. Delegates from across the nation overwhelmingly voted during a special order of business on Monday, roaring their approval to ratify a resolution passed unanimously by the union’s executive council the night before. The AFT is the first union to endorse Harris.”
The National Education Association has also endorsed Kamala Harris, with a statement reading, “The choice in this election couldn’t be clearer. The 3-million members of the NEA will show their power by turning out, volunteering, and making their voices heard because we know that electing Kamala Harris and Tim Walz is the only way we can take America forward.”
Tom Leek’s RINO backing has not been ignored, as President Trump has endorsed Leek’s GOP Primary Opponent, David Shoar. President Trump’s TruthSocial endorsement read, “David Shoar is a tremendous America First Patriot who is running to represent the incredible people of Florida’s 7th State Senate District!”
President Trump’s endorsement continues, “A Gulf War Army Veteran, David bravely served our Country and has continued to fight to protect our Communities as St. Johns County Sheriff. As your next State Senator, David will bring that same fighting Spirit to Bring Back the Great American Dream, Grow the Economy, Stop Inflation, Secure the Border, Support our Brave Military/Vets, Advance Election Integrity, and Protect our always under siege Second Amendment. David Shoar, who is 100% MAGA, and has been with us from the very beginning, has my Complete and Total Endorsement – HE WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN!”
The facts are clear. Tom Leek is a RINO. Florida voters must ensure that Leek is overwhelmingly defeated at the ballot box.
