Jimmie Gardner, the brother-in-law of Stacey Abrams, was arrested Friday on human trafficking charges related to sexual assault and battery of a minor. Gardner is married to Stacey Abrams’ sister, Leslie Abrams-Gardner, a federal judge in Georgia. Abrams-Gardner was on Biden’s shortlist for the United States Supreme Court. President Trump highlighted that Abrams-Gardner played a significant role in the Georgia election cases following the 2020 election.

Tampa Bay, Florida police arrested Jimmie Gardner with human trafficking, lewd or lascivious touching of a minor and battery. According to Tampa Police, Mr. Gardner attempted to have sex with a 16-year-old girl; when the girl denied his advances, Mr. Gardner then began to choke the girl.

Following Justice Breyer’s retirement in 2022, Georgia Federal Judge Leslie Abrams-Gardner was one of the top candidates for Biden to nominate to fill Breyer’s seat. The news of Gardner’s arrest and his wife’s near Supreme Court appointment was broken live on Loomer Unleashed.

Leslie Abrams-Gardner was appointed as a Georgia Federal Judge by Barack Obama in 2014. The United States Senate then unanimously approved Obama’s appointment of Gardner.

Gardner played a significant role in Georgia’s 2020 election cases. Marc Elias, a Democrat power broker and lawyer, sued to stop two Georgia counties from removing 4,000 voters from their rolls. Judge Gardner heard the case and sided with Mr. Elias, ensuring those 4,000 names remained eligible to vote.

President Trump called out Judge Gardner’s rulings in the 2020 election posting in January of 2021, “Why haven’t they done signature verification in Fulton County, Georgia. Why haven’t they deducted all of the dead people who “voted”, illegals who voted, non Georgia residents who voted, and tens of thousands of others who voted illegally, from the final vote tally?”

Trump’s post then highlighted Judge Gardner, “…Just a small portion of these votes give US a big and conclusive win in Georgia. Have they illegally destroyed ballots in Fulton County? After many weeks, we don’t yet even have a judge to hear this large scale voter fraud case. The only judge seems to be Stacey’s sister!”

It is unknown if Judge Gardner will resign or not. If she does not resign, Gardner could be in a position to hear any 2024 Georgia election legal cases.
