President Trump Accuses Twitter of Election Interference and ‘Stifling Free Speech’

Tuesday evening President Trump accused Twitter of election interference in the 2020 presidential election after a warning was placed on two of his early morning tweets by the social media platform where Trump spoke of the dangers associated with using mail-in ballots.
“.@Twitter is now interfering in the 2020 Presidential Election. They are saying my statement on Mail-In Ballots, which will lead to massive corruption and fraud, is incorrect, based on fact-checking by Fake News CNN and the Amazon Washington Post….”
The post continued, “….Twitter is completely stifling FREE SPEECH, and I, as President, will not allow it to happen!”
President Trump was referring to a pair of tweets he posted early Tuesday morning that Twitter later added warning labels to.
The tweets read, “There is NO WAY (ZERO!) that Mail-In Ballots will be anything less than substantially fraudulent. Mail boxes will be robbed, ballots will be forged & even illegally printed out & fraudulently signed. The Governor of California is sending Ballots to millions of people, anyone…….living in the state, no matter who they are or how they got there, will get one. That will be followed up with professionals telling all of these people, many of whom have never even thought of voting before, how, and for whom, to vote. This will be a Rigged Election. No way!”
The warning in bright blue lettering reads, “Get the facts about mail-in ballots”. When you click on the warning, it redirects you to a page that features articles by CNN, WaPo, The Hill, and other outlets denouncing Trump’s claims, calling them “unsubstantiated” and backing the social media company for issuing the warnings.
“What you need to know,” the heading reads, followed by:
– Trump falsely claimed that mail-in ballots would lead to “a Rigged Election.” However, fact-checkers say there is no evidence that mail-in ballots are linked to voter fraud.
– Trump falsely claimed that California will send mail-in ballots to “anyone living in the state, no matter who they are or how they got there.” In fact, only registered voters will receive ballots.
– Though Trump targeted California, mail-in ballots are already used in some states, including Oregon, Utah and Nebraska.”
A spokesperson for Twitter explained the decision to The Hill saying, “These Tweets contain potentially misleading information about voting processes and have been labeled to provide additional context around mail-in ballots.”
Just last week we reported that one of President Trump’s tweets that featured a speech by Michelle Malkin ABOUT free speech and tech censorship was deleted by Twitter.
We also reported last week on Twitter’s new rules around COVID-19 related content being shared on their platform. The newest crackdown by the social media giant states that any information that they deem as “misleading” that goes against the official narrative of the World Health Organization or other “authoritative sources of global and local public health information” will now come with its own warning label.
Social media alternative Gab responded to President Trump’s tweets saying, “Mr. President get on http://Gab.com and speak freely. Support alt tech platforms and please stop consolidating power and making money for Silicon Valley tyrants,” adding, “Twitter is now editorializing the President’s tweets. They have banned and censored tens of thousands of conservatives from around the world. The free market has provided an alternative: http://Gab.com“
Dan Bongino, Host of The Dan Bongino Show also offered an alternative to Twitter tweeting, “Twitter has abandoned you. Join Parler today. They’re everything twitter isn’t.”
President of Judicial Watch Tom Fitton also replied to President Trump calling Twitter out on their election interference tweeting, “Fact check: True.”
Political radio news contributor Kambree (@KAMVTV) responded to the president’s tweet by retweeting an article posted by the official Twitter account for WV Attorney General of a mail carrier in West Virginia charged with voter fraud which can been viewed here.
Raheem Kassam with The National Pulse, and co-host of The War Room responded saying, “Twitter penalises conservatives. Verifies Chinese Communist Party accounts. Removes references to Islamic terror. And is now putting its thumb on the scale of an election. It’s a bad actor and a public menace.”
Tuesday, Trump 2020 Campaign Manager Brad Parscale issued the following statement on Twitter’s latest policy:
“We always knew that Silicon Valley would pull out all the stops to obstruct and interfere with President Trump getting his message through to voters. Partnering with the biased fake news media ‘fact checkers’ is only a smoke screen Twitter is using to try to lend their obvious political tactics some false credibility. There are many reasons the Trump campaign pulled all our advertising from Twitter months ago, and their clear political bias is one of them.”
Laura Loomer warned of this level of censorship when she confronted Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey in a Congressional Hearing in 2018. While Dorsey was testifying before the House Energy and Commerce Committee, Loomer stood up and called Dorsey a liar for stating there was no bias when deciding who would get the boot on the platform.
She also pointed out how Twitter has time and again censored and even banned conservatives for flimsy and ridiculous reasons, which in some cases those who are banned are never given the specific reason. Loomer pleaded with President Trump to help stop the censorship on social media and suggested it should be considered election meddling.
“Please help us Mr. President before it is too late because Jack Dorsey is trying to influence the election – to sway the election so the Democrats can steal the election. That is why he is censoring and shadowbanning conservatives. You are a liar.” [speaking to Jack Dorsey]
Raheem Kassam called Rep. Long out for his behavior during the 2018 Congressional hearing, reminding others of the response to Loomer’s warnings tweeting, “Remember when Laura Loomer blasted Jack Dorsey for censoring @realDonaldTrump but conservatives mocked her? Why did “Republican” @USRepLong try to talk over her and mock her here? @DanScavino“
Author and Newsmax contributor Carl Higbie retweeted Kassam adding, “And now #LauraLoomer is gonna be @realDonaldTrump’s congresswoman. Ha…”
