Saturday morning at 7:56 a.m. EST President Donald Trump retweeted a post from America First Clips featuring a speech by conservative journalist Michelle Malkin in which she calls out Big Tech censorship.

Within the hour, the original America First Clips tweet was deleted by Twitter.

“The Radical Left is in total command & control of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Google. The Administration is working to remedy this illegal situation. Stay tuned, and send names & events. Thank you Michelle! https://twitter.com/af_clips/status/1261331113102004226

The original tweet connected to President Trump’s thanking Michelle Malkin was reposted by America First Clips under the president’s tweet along with the caption, “Twitter deleted this tweet after @realDonaldTrump shared it”:

The live censoring of the America First Clips tweet was captured and uploaded to YouTube by REDPILLED:

Malkin responded by posting a screenshot of the original tweets and calling out Right Wing Watch’s Jared Holt and other #coninc (Conservative Inc.) gatekeepers.

“We see you playing games, @twitter – And screw you @jaredholt and #coninc gatekeepers – #americafirst can’t be contained,” Malkin said in a tweet.

In subsequent tweets Malkin states, “The gatekeepers keep PROVING US RIGHT,” and asks “What are they so afraid of?”

Twitter users chimed in on the censorship:

Big Tech’s censorship is out of control. If social media platforms are going to continue censoring content at-will that they disagree with, they should be legally considered publishers.

In 2018 Facebook CEO Sheryl Sandberg and Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey were questioned by the House Energy and Commerce Committee about shadowbanning users on their site, but both tech CEOs tiptoed around the subject and denied any bias on their part.

“Looking at the data, we analyzed tweets sent by all members of the House and Senate, and found no statistically significant difference between the number of times a tweet by a Democrat is viewed versus a Republican, even after our ranking and filtering of tweets has been applied,” Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey claimed.

We reported on Twitter’s censorship expanding to cover any COVID-19 related posts that went against the “official” narrative the World Health Organization and other “authoritative sources of global and local public health information” release regarding the virus. Twitter’s new flagging system “will begin labeling coronavirus-related tweets that contain potentially misleading information but that don’t clearly violate company misinformation policies.”

This latest labeling system includes posts from President Trump’s official Twitter account and those belonging to other state and world leaders. Yet, what happened this morning wasn’t about COVID-19. It was, oddly enough, about Big Tech censoring things they don’t like or deem “harmful” or “misleading”. Of course, like most tweets that are deleted by Twitter, the actual reason the tweet was deleted was not given by the social media platform. The excuses Big Tech gives for censoring free speech is ever expanding. What will be the next reason they claim it necessary to censor users and their First Amendment rights on their platform?
