In a wild segment on ABC’s “The View,” anchored by shrieking harpies Joy Behar, Whoopi Goldberg, and Meghan McCain, along with a rotating cast of others, President Donald J. Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr., took the stage by storm.
“I didn’t want to breed hysteria but I’m reading an article be like, ‘Oh, the name’s out there,’ I didn’t even realize that this thing was some sort of secret,” Trump Jr. said of the name of the alleged “whistleblower” in the Ukrainian “quid pro quo” hoax, the latest in the desperate attempts by the political left to delegitimize Trump’s presidency.
There was some controversy Thursday over Trump Jr. tweeting the name of the “whistleblower,” which has been public for about a week now. The Ukrainian hysteria has been the succession to the manufactured Russian “collusion” hoax, which fell apart earlier this year.
“I don’t regret [tweeting the whistleblower’s name],” he continued. “I don’t think I should have to forego my First Amendment rights. It’s out there. I read it in an article. I’ve been reading it for a week. I saw it on the Drudge Report. Like, this is not some secret but, because it’s Donald Trump Jr., because he’s an outspoken guy – “
Behar cut Trump Jr., looked at the audience, and began scolding them.
“Look, this isn’t a MAGA rally, okay?” she said while Trump Jr. continued to speak.
There was an awkward silence from the audience after what Behar likely expected to be an applause line.

When Behar and Goldberg accused Trump of lowering the level of political discourse in America, he rhetorically smacked them back again.
“If we’re talking about bringing discourse down: Joy, you’ve worn blackface,” he said. “Whoopi, you said that Roman Polanski – it wasn’t ‘rape-rape’ when he raped a child.”
Both of the hosts were indignant about Trump pulling out those old chestnuts, and denied them. Here’s the clip of that:
NewsBusters pulled the transcript of Goldberg’s comments on Polanski, a film director who fled the country while awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty to statutory rape charges.
“I know it wasn’t rape-rape… All I’m trying to get you to understand, is when we’re talking about what someone did, and what they were charged with, we have to say what it actually was not what we think it was,” Goldberg said at the time. “Initially he was charged with rape, and then he pled guilty to having sex with a minor, okay. And then he went to jail, and when they let him out, he said, ‘you know what, this guy’s going to give me a hundred years in jail, I’m not staying.’ And that’s why he left.”
Polanski drugged a 13-year-old girl and raped her while she repeatedly said “no.”
Behar also denied wearing blackface, so commentator Jason Howerton mashed together two clips: one of today’s denial, and another of her saying that she dressed up for Halloween as a “beautiful African woman.” Roll tape:
As usual, the political left can’t stand when one points out its hypocrisy, and the cast of “The View” proved that once again Thursday.
