Rapper YG brought a young fan onstage and was shocked to learn that the fan would not yell “Fuck Donald Trump,” in what can only be described as a race-driven attempt to embarrass the young man.

“I don’t know if I want to shake your hand yet,” he said after calling the fan up to the stage.

“Listen, I spotted you out in the crowd. I asked you if you fuck with Donald Trump. You said you don’t know,” the rapper continued. “So, since you don’t know, I need you to make up your mind tonight… Because I know your mama, your daddy, your grandmama, your grandfather is watching, I want you to state your name and go ‘Fuck Donald Trump.’”

The fan, a young white male, refused. He was kicked off the stage by YG and booed by the crowd.

“No, you won’t? …. He a Donald Trump supporter. Get his ass out of here,” the rapper said.

The incident took place at the Mala Luna Music Festival in San Antonio, TX on Saturday night.

But based on public reaction, it appears that the fan came out on top. XXL magazine posted the clip to their Twitter page:

“He had no right to do that. Trump might be bad but in no way, shape or form is it justifiable for YG to bring up a fan on stage in front of a big crowd and impose his views on that guy. On top of that, this guy will have to go through so much [in real life]. Irresponsible,” one Twitter user said.

“Smart move. Dude knew he was being recorded and decided to stay neutral given that video would be all over the internet regardless of his position/stance. Protected any future job offers/opportunities,” said another.

“Not a Trump supporter but this was unnecessary,” said another.

And this reporter’s personal favorite:

“YG look like a dummy for this,” another observer said.

Bullying a paying customer is one thing, but clowning yourself and getting roasted by your own fans (and others) is next level. We get it, YG, you don’t like Trump. The schtick is getting old.

The White House responded to the video, too.

“Another example of the tolerant left,” Trump Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham reportedly told Fox News.

YG released a song called “FDT,” which stands for “Fuck Donald Trump,” in 2016 with the late rapper Nipsey Hussle, who died in a shooting in March. YG also destroyed a piñata of Trump on stage during a concert, and according to Fox News, partnered with the Yeasty Boys bagel truck in Compton, CA, to hand out bagels that said “Fuck Donald Trump” on them on election day in 2016. That tactic did not stop Trump from winning the election, despite YG’s best efforts.

In May of 2018 YG told Rolling Stone that he was finished publicly bashing Trump, and his latest album would not focus on Trump.

“I don’t wanna do nothing with Trump,” he said. “I got an open case right now, I’m cool. I’m straight.”
