It’s no secret that the leftist media and Hollywood hate President Donald J. Trump, but their hatred elevated to a completely new level Sunday after news broke that the U.S. military, with Trump’s authorization, killed the leader of ISIS, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

Bent on not allowing the 45th President to have a win, Hollywood and the esteemed media immediately went to work whitewashing the record of the dead terrorist, who brutally raped, tortured and killed American humanitarian Kayla Mueller personally after her kidnapping – and that’s just the tip of the iceberg of the atrocities committed by ISIS at the hands of al-Baghdadi.

Enter washed up actress and opioid addict Jamie Lee Curtis, who responded thusly after Trump said al-Baghdadi “died like a dog” at a press conference announcing his death.

“He may have died a coward [Donald Trump] but ALL living things suffer when they are blown up. Anyone who has experienced warfare, unlike yourself, would know that. War is brutal. Dogs are brave, bold, loyal, loving, and healing,” she tweeted.

After taking a severe internet beatdown for defending a dead terrorist, Curtis deleted the tweet Monday morning. Worth noting, by the way, is that Curtis has never “experienced warfare” either, so the moralizing is a bit much.

Not to be outdone, The Washington Post made sure to publish an obituary for al-Baghdadi, which failed to recognize him for the monster that he was, and rather painted him as a brilliant academic.

“Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, austere religious scholar at helm of Islamic State, dies at 48,” the headline said.

That whitewashing sparked the trending Twitter hashtag #WaPoDeathNotices, which amassed hundreds of thousands of tweets along the following lines:

After heavy criticism, the Jeff Bezos-owned newspaper was forced to issue an updated headline and a statement about its misguided headline.

“Regarding our al-Baghdadi obituary, the headline should never have read that way and we changed it quickly,” WaPo’s vice president of communications Kris Coratti Kelly said on Twitter.

Casual observers were not exactly ready to forgive The Post, despite the milquetoast apology.

“Someone just knocked over the ink well huh,” attorney Ron Coleman said.

“Sell the paper now. You all have ZERO credibility or integrity. How dare you desecrate the the efforts of our courageous military by praising one of the most reprehensible human beings ever to walk the earth. Al-Baghdadi had a Jordanian Pilot BURNED ALIVE, and you eulogize him?!” U.S. Army veteran Montgomery Granger said.

“The Washington Post sides with ISIS over Trump, we get it,” Mark Dice said.

One liberal managed to remain sane during Sunday’s leftist fit and defense of terrorists. That was poll aggregator Nate Silver.

“It really amazing how many Libs can’t even permit Trump to have *one good day* (nobody will remember this stuff by Tuesday) after US forces kill perhaps the world’s most wanted terrorist,” he said on Twitter.

For that, he has become the object of scorn of the same leftists who defended al-Baghdadi.

What a time to be alive.
