Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg sat down with a reporter from Axios to discuss the company’s “News Tab,” which launched Friday and is being pitched as a tool to “combat fake news” ahead of the 2020 election.

Unfortunately (but not unpredictably) the company has partnered with several publishers known for pushing far-left propaganda, including the Russian “collusion” hoax, otherwise known as fake news. In fact, Facebook’s “News Tab” is a leftist hellscape, meaning that people who use it to stay informed through 2020 will be seeing the election cycle through a far-left lens.

According to Axios, Condé Nast signed on as a publisher for the “News Tab.” Condé Nast is the parent company for Vogue, The New Yorker, GQ, and Vanity Fair, all far-left news outlets. BuzzFeed, USA Today, and The Washington Post, and The New York Times are also in. Axios, founded by fr-left POLITICO rejects Jim VandeHei, Mike Allen, and Roy Schwartz, is also a
“News Tab” partner.

It gets worse.

“One person who has seen a version of the tab being tested by Facebook employees said it featured stories from The Wall Street Journal, ABC News, CBS News, National Geographic, BBC, The Huffington Post, and The Hill, though some of those publishers don’t appear to have officially struck agreements with Facebook yet,” as we reported via Neiman Labs.

Conspicuously missing are large, well-established right-leaning news outlets like Fox, Daily Caller, Breitbart, and The Washington Examiner.

Zuckerberg, undoubtedly a leftist and known for booting conservatives off his platform en masse, has called the “News Tab” his “personal passion” and will hire “seasoned journalists” (read: journalism school hacks) to run the new feature.

“We’ve hired a diverse group who have different backgrounds and views and different nationalities,” Zuckerberg told Axios. “And this isn’t going to be just a set of employees at a tech company who are choosing the news. I mean, this is something that requires real skill, and that’s why we’re investing in people who have deep experience in this space.”

He also said “the internet has been very disruptive to the news industry,” which can only be construed as a complaint that the internet has empowered normal people to question the far-left narrative foisted upon them through decades of cable news domination. Those pesky “disruptors” have made it far more difficult for the powers that be to lie to the American people.

Journalism used to be about keeping the powerful in check on behalf of ordinary people. Now, it appears journalists who partner with Zuckerberg and Facebook will be doing the opposite: working to keep power centralized in the hands of those who push the official narrative, and out of the hands of ordinary people.

“Facebook will help direct traffic from the News tab to publishers so ‘they can build up their own subscription bases. We’re not taking a cut of the revenue from any of that because we want to make sure that as much as possible goes towards funding journalism,'” Axios said.

Under the guise of protecting Americans from “fake news,” Facebook is planning to brainwash the masses with the same leftist narrative that has dominated cable news during President Donald J. Trump’s first term. Except this is far more pernicious. Nobody watches cable news anymore because most Americans have caught onto the fact that the likes of CNN and MSNBC are a horde of dirty liars. Nearly 3 billion people use Facebook. Now, far-left blogs are being substituted for cable news and delivered straight to your eyeballs via the most popular social network on earth.
