Left Freaks Out After Zuckerberg Meets With Conservative Media Figures

The political left is losing its mind after POLITICO reported Monday that Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has been meeting with right wing media figures.
“Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has been hosting informal talks and small, off-the-record dinners with conservative journalists, commentators and at least one Republican lawmaker in recent months to discuss issues like free speech and discuss partnerships,” POLITICO said.
Among those with whom Zuckerberg has met are Fox News host Tucker Carlson, conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt, and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC). Facebook is treading on dangerous water as Attorney General Bill Barr is demanding that the Department of Justice (DOJ) launch an antitrust investigation into the tech giant. Fifty state attorneys general are already probing Facebook for anti-competitive behavior.
Zuckerberg, a Silicon Valley leftist, is surely a member of the anti-conservative, pro-censorship brigade, but appears to be conciliatory in the face of potential legal trouble.
Quoting an anonymous Trump administration who POLITICO said is familiar with Zuckerberg’s recent meetings, the White House is looking for meaningful cooperation from the titan of social networking, not simply lip service.
According to that person, “the White House is looking for meaningful steps from Facebook on a number of fronts,” which include “competition, free speech for everybody including conservatives, and privacy.”
The source reportedly said that “nominal outreach won’t cut it.”
“Each dinner has been hosted at one of Zuckerberg’s homes in California, and at least one lasted around two-and-a-half to three hours. The conversations center around ‘free expression, unfair treatment of conservatives, the appeals process for real or perceived unfair treatment, fact checking, partnerships, and privacy,’ the source familiar with the meetings said,” according to the report.
Meanwhile, the political left is having none of it. One of their major allies even speaking with conservatives is a mortal sin in their eyes. #DeleteFacebook is the number one trend in the United States at the time of this writing.
“So condescending. Would Zuckerberg meet with avowed racists for ‘learning’? Neo-nazis?” one blue checkmark nobody from a D.C. think tank asked when Zuckerberg responded to the report on Facebook.
“We need to #DeleteFacebook to save our democracy,” a Hollywood actor said, referring to our Republic.
“I deleted Facebook last year and have not been back, even deleted my “fan club” with over 70,000 followers. While you’re at it, delete Instagram, Whatsapp, and the 90% of all the other apps the Facebook controls/owns — BUT you won’t because you’re lazy,” another blue check mark, who describes himself as a “battle tested entrepreneur” bragged.
Zuckerberg is now defending himself from the monstrous mob he helped create.
“To be clear, I have dinners with lots of people across the spectrum on lots of different issues all the time,” he said. “Meeting with new people and hearing from a wide range of viewpoints is part of learning. If you haven’t tried it, I suggest you do!”
Today’s news is a fascinating case study on the rabid political left, who will stop at nothing to make sure that conservative points of view are silenced from the public square. Even after Facebook nuked the accounts of several major conservative influencers, including our own Laura Loomer, the left is still out for blood.
Zuckerberg seems poised to learn the hard way: no matter what you do, you can never be “woke” enough to satisfy the outrage mob.
