An actress took to Twitter to incite violence against Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) Thursday, and as usual the tech giant let her get away with it.
“Rand Paul, do us all a big favor,” Patti LuPone said. “Don’t step foot in NYC. You too are a National disgrace. Maybe your neighbor had a point?”
LuPone was referring to Paul’s neighbor Rene Boucher, a radical leftist who brutally attacked Paul on his lawn in November of 2017, fracturing his ribs and causing a pleural effusion, which is a buildup of excess fluid in the lungs. Boucher pleaded guilty to assaulting a member of Congress, served 30 days in jail, and paid a $10,000 fine. Paul was also awarded $580,000 in damages in civil court.
The political left is upset that Paul “blocked” a motion for unanimous consent on a bill that would have funded 9/11 victim compensation through 2090. In reality, Paul simply suggested an amendment to the bill, stopping it from being passed with unanimous consent.
“Senator Paul is not blocking anything,” his office said in a statement to Fox News. “He is simply seeking to pay for it. As with any bill, Senator Paul always believes it needs to be paid for. Senator Paul is simply offering an amendment, which other senators support, to pay for this legislation.”
Paul is known for fiscal conservatism, and cited the nation’s $21 trillion of debt in deciding not to support unanimous consent.
Apparently, Paul’s decision justifies physical violence against him, at least according LuPonte, one member of the leftist blue-check brigade on Twitter. The Tweet remains after 19 hours, despite the fact that it is in clear violation of Twitter’s terms of service.
Laura Loomer was banned from Twitter in November of last year for an alleged terms of service violation after calling Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) “anti-Jewish,” a far less egregious offense then suggesting that a sitting U.S. Senator should be assaulted. She is suing Twitter and the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) over the ban.
