Former presidential candidate, Florida Governor, and Bush family matriarch Barbara Bush’s least favorite son, posted a cryptic Tweet Thursday about presidents have died on July 4th.

“Three Presidents Die on July 4th: Just a Coincidence?” he Tweeted, posting a story from the Constitution Center.

Trump and Bush became mortal enemies during the 2016 Republican Primary race, when Trump trounced the younger, less successful Bush at every turn.

“It is a fact of American history that three Founding Father Presidents—John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and James Monroe—died on July 4, the Independence Day anniversary,” The Constitution Center article said.

The piece continues, giving historical context to the July 4th deaths of the presidents, including several 19th century newspaper clippings which noted the oddity of the coincidence.

But some viewed Bush’s Tweet as a veiled threat or dig against Trump.

“We know you’re wishing for Trump to be added to that list. You and your family are war criminals and traitors to this great country,” media commentator Mark Dice said.

“Your father was in Dallas Texas the day John F. Kennedy was assassinated,” another user said, while Bush was on the subject of historical facts.

“Jeb, you were my Governor,& I voted for you.THIS comment is…despicable and shameful. The intent and insinuation of it is blatantly obvious, and frankly abhorrent to any citizen who still respects Law, Order and our Constitution.Guess this speaks volumes about where you stand…” a third Twitter user said.

Bush did not respond to any of the online criticism.
