In the wake of the horrible Virginia Beach massacre with its suspicious lack of attention from the mainstream media, Minnesota’s 5th Congressional representative Ilhan Omar thought the most prudent action would be to point the finger of blame towards the NRA.

Last week, Omar stood on the graves of 11 dead American citizens and from the resultant bully pulpit, tweeted,

“I am outraged and heartbroken. How much longer will we ignore the pain of our communities? We need to immediately confront the power of the NRA and end the epidemic of gun violence in this country.”

Following this, NRA Spokeswoman Dana Loesch tweeted her response to Omar as follows: “This was a heinous tragedy. Your remarks move me to ask: What do 5 million members of the NRA have to do with this man’s crime? Was this man a card-carrying member? His purchases were legal, whose fault is that? Does he bear any blame at all? Serious questions,”.

Thoughtful questions that were rewarded by a deafening silence from the Congresswoman, who was dead silent when a Muslim man who pledged allegiance to ISIS walked into an Orlando gay club and killed 49 people nearly three years ago on June 12, 2016.

It’s worth noting that it is currently Pride month.

Is Ilhan Omar going to blame Islam for the death of 49 gay people in Orlando? Or is the NRA also responsible when members of “the religion of peace” commit murder in the name of Allah?

There was also silence from Omar when a Muslim couple used guns to kill 14 people and injure 22 others at a holiday party in San Berardino, California in the name of Islam. Who does Ilhan Omar blame?

Who does Ilhan Omar blame for 9/11?

Mrs. Omar, for her part, seems to simply be following her standard protocol in using national tragedies for political leverage while ignoring the violence and chaos those within her own community of terror supporters and terror sympathizers are responsible for.

Selective outage? Or complicity?

The NRA had a few words for Omar, tweeting:

“Rep. Ilhan Omar recently tweeted: “We need to immediately confront the power of the NRA.” We’ve got news for you, Ilhan – confronting the “power of the NRA” is confronting the millions of law-abiding Americans who fight for their right to defend themselves and their loved ones.”

One thing is certain. This isn’t the first or last clumsy attempt by Omar to resurrect a political power play out of the ashes of national tragedies for the sake of her own radical agenda.
