A video posted to Minnesota Congresswoman Ilhan Omar’s Instagram story shows that she endangered her six year old daughter and broke a Minnesota law.

In the video, posted on April 26, 2019, Omar recorded herself from inside a moving vehicle with two of her children. Ilwad Hirsi, Omar’s six year old daughter, is seen in the back seat of the car dancing to music on Omar’s Instagram video without being strapped into a booster seat. Omar’s son, Adnan, is also seen in the car in Omar’s video, and both he and his sister appear to NOT be wearing seat beats, which is also a crime.

Omar is seen filming herself singing to Beyonce while driving her car with her kids, who were not wearing seat belts. This is a clear violation of the law. What type of parent films themselves while driving, and what type of parent doesn’t buckle their kids up in a seatbelt?

Along with being a Jew hater, Ilhan Omar can add bad mother to her resume. And this woman is a Congresswoman?

How are the American people supposed to trust this woman to uphold our laws, when she happily and comfortably breaks the law on Instagram for the world to see?

According to Minnesota’s “Booster Seat Safety” Law,

“A child who is both under age 8 and shorter than 4 feet 9 inches is required to be fastened in a child safety seat that meets federal safety standards. Under this law, a child cannot use a seat belt alone until they are age 8, or 4 feet 9 inches tall. It is recommended to keep a child in a booster based on their height rather than their age. Check the instruction book or label of the child safety seat to be sure it is the right seat for your child’s weight and height.

Children should ride in safety seats with a complete harness system as long as possible. Most seats with a harness fit children up to 40 pounds — there are seats available that reach 50, 65 and 85 pounds, but a tall, thin child may outgrow a “convertible” seat (faces either rearward or forward) before 40 pounds. If the child’s shoulders are above the top slots, try a combination child seat/booster with higher strap slots. Typically, the harness may be used up to 40 pounds; then it is removed so the seat can be used as a belt-positioning booster. Most boosters fit up to 80 pounds; some fit up to 100 pounds.

Never use a booster with only a lap belt. If your car only has lap belts, use a forward facing car seat with a harness and higher weight limits. For other ideas, visit www.carseatsmadesimple.org.

The Five Step Seat Belt Fit Test:

Does the child sit all the way back against the auto seat?

Do the child’s knees bend comfortably at the edge of the auto seat?

Does the belt cross the shoulder between the neck and arm?

Is the lap belt as low as possible, touching the thighs?

Can the child stay seated like this for the whole trip?If you answered “no” to any of these questions, your child needs a booster seat to ride safely in the car. Kids like boosters because they are more comfortable, too!

Omar’s daughter fits both the age and height requirements for a booster seat according to Minnesota Law.

As a US Congresswoman from Minnesota, Omar had to take an oath to uphold the laws of Minnesota, as well as the United States of America. Not only did Omar refuse to take an oath to uphold US law through her refusal to take an oath on the United States Constitution, opting for the Quran instead, but she is clearly in violation of Minnesota’s Booster Seat Safety Law, ON VIDEO.

Is Ilhan Omar above the law? If any other person in Minnesota was caught by the police transporting a child in an insecure manner, they would face legal consequences, and would inevitably get a visit from Child Protective Services (CPS).

Omar’s video was broadcasted to her nearly 1 million Instagram followers, and yet the media has yet to hold her accountable for child endangerment that was caught on camera.

Not only is Omar endangering her child’s safety in a moving vehicle, but Omar may also be in violation of Minnesota’s “hands free” driving law, which requires drivers to use handsfree technology when driving and making phone calls. As a Congresswoman, surely Omar knows that it is not safe to film yourself while you are driving.

Omar’s complete disregard for the life of fellow Minnesotans on the road is just another example of her poor leadership skills, and is further evidence that she is unfit to serve in office. There are an estimated 3,287 deaths each day due to fatal car crashes. On average, 9 of these daily fatalities are related to distracted driving. The National Safety Council reports that cell phone use while driving leads to 1.6 million crashes each year. Ilhan Omar is now part of the problem.

Along with endangering her six year old child, and the lives of others on the road, it’s worth noting that Omar is also endangering her child on social media. In her video, Omar tagged her daughter’s Instagram account.

Again, Omar’s daughter is six years old (just like Aisha), and she has a public Instagram account.

According to Instagram’s terms of service,

“Instagram requires everyone to be at least 13 years old before they can create an account (in some jurisdictions, this age limit may be higher). If your child is younger than 13 and created an account on Instagram, you can show them how to delete their account. If you’d like to report an account belonging to someone under 13 or if you believe someone is impersonating your child who’s under 13, please fill out this form. In order to delete a child’s account, we’ll need to verify that the child is under 13.”

Omar’s daughter’s Instagram handle is @IlwadYY.

In her bio, it says, “Happy 6 year old from Minneapolis.”

Not only is there evidence that Ilwad is under 13 in her own words, but her account has been broadcasted to millions of Instagram users online via Ilhan Omar’s account, and Instagram has yet to take action.

Unlike Ilhan Omar, who voted against legislation that would have made FGM a felony, I actually care about the safety and well being of women and children.

If you’d like to report an account belonging to someone under 13 or if you believe someone is impersonating your child who’s under 13, please fill out this form. In order to delete a child’s account, we’ll need to verify that the child is under 13.

You can contact Hennepin County Family Services at 612-348-3552 to report Ilhan Omar for breaking Minnesota’s Booster Seat Safety law and endangering a child.
