Boris Epshteyn, the former Trump campaign senior adviser, hosted a news segment Wednesday morning challenging Laura Loomer’s Twitter ban. In the segment, Epshteyn blasted Twitter for banning Loomer, while defending the Tweet which got her banned – a Tweet relating to Muslim Rep.-elect Ilhan Omar.

Epshteyn claimed that Omar’s own Twitter post and message was hateful towards Jewish people, framing Laura Loomer’s lifelong Twitter ban as “unfair conservative censorship.”

“He went on to ask why Loomer had been banned when Louis Farrakhan, the leader of the Nation of Islam and a known anti-Semite, had not been.”

Epshteyn’s segment was aired under the Sinclair Broadcast Group, a telecommunications conglomerate which owns local news stations that reach a collective of 40 percent of Americans.

When the segment aired, Epshteyn and Sinclair received considerable backlash.

Sinclair responded with the following Tweet:

“We’d like to take a moment and address some concerns regarding a commentary segment by @borisep that was aired on Sinclair stations this week. The opinions expressed in this segment do not reflect the views of Sinclair Broadcast Group. , which aired Wednesday morning.

” When Boris’s segments are aired on our stations, they are labeled clearly as commentary. We also offer our stations reporting from the Beltway and beyond that are not partisan or bias in any way.”
